I would personally love it so much!! Demi is amazing and Fall In Line is just THAT song. I accept no slander xoxo. But every Demi thread is 99% filled with hate so it was to be expected this wouldn’t end well

I’m NOT a fan of Demi, but I could kinda see it happening.....

 

Not gonna lie, musically Demi could fit okay on ROM, but it probably wouldn’t do as well chart/stream wise because Demi’s got a lot of unlikable qualities about her. The scandals, overall “rude/arrogant” behavior, etc. But she’s been through a LOT so I’m sure she and Gaga could’ve connected through their trauma. Demi even showed support for ROM on its release day/weekend!

 

Like I said, I’m not a fan but I can identify good vocals when I see them, and she does have some pipes. Yeah, she can be off-key at times or have a bad tone, but some of her live performances recently (Grammys, Super Bowl) have been pretty impressive. Definitely don’t think she’s as good as her peers like Ariana or Dua. For sure Selena tho.

Here are my reasons why Ariana is a better choice than Demi:

 

1. Demi is a good singer but Ariana's voice would be a better choice for ROM because Ari's soft vocals and Gaga's large, theatrical, and growl-ish vocals are contrasting yet sounds divine. If Gaga and Demi would create a song, it would sound like they are having a voice-off competition since both their vocals are quite large, strong, and somewhat aggressive (but in a good way). And honestly, I did not like Fall in Line very much because it sounds like Demi and Xtina are fighting for who can sing and belt the song.

 

2. Demi can be a bit problematic, unlikeable, and negative for the general audience. According to some tweets and instagram posts I've seen, literally no one has forgiven Demi for bitching about Selena and Taylor. I know y'all are aware about the infamous Finsta controversy .

 

3. In the same context as no. 2, the more negativity there is that surrounds the artist, the less streams or plays it gets. It may not be a hit and it may drag Gaga down. (I may be overreacting a bit on this one lol)

 

4. Ari and Gaga have chemistry together. I feel that the affection they show is genuine. It does not feel fake or for-show for promotional purposes. Ari loves Gaga way back when Ari was in Nickelodeon.

 

5. Demi subtweeted Gaga in Twitter for "promoting eating disorders" during Gaga's SXSW performance in 2014.

I know it's not like she hated Gaga or whatever but haters might use it against each other. (I'm reaching a bit at this point lol)

Did you think to consider that in her Grammys performance she was singing about overdosing and almost dying? I used to have a singing teacher who praised Demi and said that she has a remarkable performance quality - not pitch perfect every note but a very convincing voice, a well-performed belt and an incredibly emotional quality. All I see is Demi slander and it really annoys meeee

Nah, I think RoM works so well because Gaga's voice is so powerful and husky whereas Ari is silky and soft. I can imagine it would be more of a competition with Demi.
