I am from Australia and something like this would result in instant firing and not even debated to the nth degree. America is such a sad backward tortured nation with terrible systems and we are watching from around with horror and pity for all Americans. The analogy I like to think of is the NYC subway, anyone well travelled will know that some 3rd world systems are on par with this subway, and some 1st world systems literally make America look like it's from the 1900s.
