Not just in total profits and size but margins too Some Canadian Banks have had profit margins as high as 30% of revenue in some quarters which is about as high as Apple has also gotten By comparison many other large Corporations struggle to get 5%

Tbh. I think the ultimate accomplishment for a civilization would be to successfully pull off a communist system without the problems communism has had in every attempt. If a race can function with full equality like that they are truly mature and enlightened Unfortunately humans are not mature enough to make communism work. The Government ends up with either corruption problems or they are incapable of managing resources as efficiently as the private sector (in most cases it's both issues combined) There's also the issue that a good portion of humans are not selfless enough to make communism work. We'd need everyone to have the attitude of willingly working hard and going out of their way to do difficult tasks that nobody wants to do for the sake of the benefit of everyone in the community even if they don't personally get anything out of it. Communism would mean the good of the community first and me second... Not the me first attitude. "Me first" is why we have capitalism Since most humans are not selfless enough and governments not competent enough a communist system can't be truly prosperous now... But it would be the ideal system if we were mature enough to handle it tbh
