Pretty much this. If you’re silent about injustice than you’ve sided with the oppressor.

And the unfortunate truth is that the system is far too broken, corrupt, racist and violent for individual cops to change it from the inside. This. Cops can't fix themselves. Without question. We need to eradicate and rebuild. The police, the government and society. It’s unimaginable that this is the world in 2020. It makes me so sad and it actually kills thousands every year. Never mind the millions more that survive under constant oppression and disadvantage. disco stick tester, inquire within

I feel a tad bit bad for Admin because everyone has been trying to 'control' his account for like the last two weeks. First with ROM and now this. I don’t mean the album, I mean the singers generally who make such aggressively emotional speeches and fake tears about gays and women when there’s a record to sell but otherwise, you got some vague remarks and fictional universe positive sunshine and rainbows crap. TheQueenLG 2,469
Overall, she did a fantastic job addressing this. She definitely did better than when she asked POC to educate her about racism, which is very bad optically... And just bad in general. But... At the end of her post, it felt like she was pretty close to telling me to vote for Joe Biden. She better not tell me to vote for that racist who is largely responsible for the uprising we're experiencing today. That will be a major problem. NOTE: She did great here, I have virtually nothing to criticize right now but I'm scared that she's gonna endorse Biden.

I bet Taylor is gonna want people to hold hands and sing Kumbaya and Cardi B will wear some ass tight clown costume and make another coronavirus mantra about it and Rihanna will pretend to be classy and share one image with a vaguely relevant symbol and yeah they’re all soooo helpful. Let’s see the same passion you put when you wanna fool gays that you love us when trying to sell us a half baked record. I feel like this comment is a little ignorant. If just as much as one person does research and speaks out because their favorite singer/celebrity made them aware of the issues, then it is beneficial. I'm not saying celebs that just tweet #BlackLivesMatter and that's it are helpful, but people like Gaga and Taylor who fully say their beliefs, where they are coming from, and how to help are impactful. And I have no idea where you are getting that Gaga doesn't love the gays. She has been saying since the early in her career when it possibly could have ruined it that she loves us. She has been advocating for us for years. The really fantastic thing about kindness is that it's free -Lady Gaga

Her words are honest and empathetic, yet she still gets crucified. For all we know, she could be doing a lot behind the scenes. She doesn’t need to broadcast it all over social media for recognition like some others. It's not about recognition, it's about leading by example. She mentions in her statement that Black voices have been silenced for too long and that white folk should be amplifying Black voices, now she needs to do it herself. I agree that her message is good and, despite some mixed responses here and there, overall I doubt she will receive significant criticism over it. But she does need to do more. It could be as simple as posting links to some of the local bailout funds for the cities where the biggest protests are taking place, or calling attention to the different collectives organizing peaceful rallies. Her platform is huge, which means her voice is heard very loudly.

It could’ve been a subtle “never stop fighting for your rights”, but she seems to care more for the media narrative woven about her than the people she wants to advocate for. Mister G 10,512
I should be asleep given it’s 2:11am where I am but I will end my rants on this note... Always remember what was preached during the Civil Rights Movement during the 1960’s...when you make peaceful revolution impossible, violent revolution becomes inevitable. Riots are the voices of the unheard. If you live in a city where there’s chaos all around, please please please be safe.
