But my brain just can't justify how fighting racism =/= looting & arson. Think of how terrifying it would be living near all of this - kids being exposed to it too. I genuinely feel unqualified to comment given the fact I am white and european - I'll never understand racial oppression on a personal level so who am I to say anything. I hope for their sake some good eventually comes of this, just hope to god no more people are caught in the crossfire. A video I'm mid watching which is SUPER informative is bob the drag queen and peppermint discussing BLM. You know good and well these rioters are not part of the movement The people who want change are standing peacefully at vigils with signs and chants. They know the only way to get change is to work for it and educate those that need it, not break and burn everything. Self defense exists and you absolutely can fight back to protect yourself but everyone knows there is a limit when you fight. You don't go over that certain limit. This was shocking. That said please note that this is NOT a reflection of how all the protests are or of how the protestors are behaving. People are genuinely whole heartedly protesting peacefully in tons of places or creating the right amount of noise and discomfort but not harming people!
