Joanne is probably my most listened to Gaga album even though it's not my favorite Gaga album. It's just a masterpiece. Just a masterpiece. I don't have the energy right now to do justice to it but I'm very glad it exists and I hope she dwells on the sound in the future.

You could've just keep your mouth shut and keep your unnecessary and unneeded opinion out of here. Goodbye.

My least favorite album of hers and sorry sweetie. But I am entitled to my opinion and you can’t do anything about it.

sorry Joanne.  There’s a new girl in town.

Goodbye, Joanne era.

I know most don't appreciate you.

But your music was a comfort to the world of hard beats and uninspired lyrics.

And the era was a big opportunity for Gaga to be on top of the world again.

Thank you. Joanne.

There's a time and place for everything, and you telling is that you wish for it to have never happened in a thread appreciating Joanne is just infuriating as hell:saladga:

In my opinion, Joanne is one of her most important works. I watched an ARTPOP interview and she said an artist should never create in a vacuum based on what people perceive them to be. What I found funny was the whole ARTPOP era was doing just that - ARTPOP explored “Gaga” within that vacuum..she even said it in that recent Chromatica interview, it was rebellious without having a solidified look and sound but the GP already thinks of gaga as a rebellious spirit. I think Joanne embodied the philosophy of ARTPOP and pushed her to an artist of many expressions/characters like David Bowie.

If art and pop can belong together. Couldn’t Gaga and Outback Steakhouse belong together? :firega:

Love both versions of "Angel Down," and it's a song sadly still very much relevant.

"A-YO" is such a banger, and I hope she brings it back for some concerts.

"Just Another Day" is a sweet, carefree tune.

"Diamond Heart" is an energetic opener that I love rocking out to. I wouldn't mind if Chromatica has a song like this.

"Million Reasons" might be overplayed, but she sings it so beautifully.

The title track is poignant and deceptively delicate.

Love me some Joanne

In years you will beg to her to come back to do it again.

My second favourite album, this has helped me through so much.

The way each track hits so differently, powered by emotion.  I love it, I'm never leaving this album.

Joanne has a very special place in my heart. I’ve said this before on here, but Gaga taught me how to love electronic music. Hearing her sing these more stripped back songs made me so happy because it felt so right at the time. This is most likely my favorite album of hers so far, and it has some of my favorite songs of her career. This album feels like a warm hug and I love every second of it.

I always think the same. Joanne realized what ARTPOP started. The return to roots and Gaga without the blonde wig. That's what ARTPOP started and set out to do but what Joanne fully achieved.

Some of Gaga's deepest, most heartbreaking, and most beautifully crafted lyrics are on this album. I truly think Joanne was the album that sets Gaga apart from her contemporaries and is an album that to me, proves you don't always need synths to produce a pop masterpiece.

Pop Music

as someone who loves gaga as a real authentic person and not just for the hits and the pop (as well as someone who's lost both their parents) this album about grief and authenticity is something I needed after my favorite album (ARTPOP) that distracted me from my dads death, mothers spiral and general chaos in my life. After all that excitement, anger and confusion that was ARTPOP I needed to find some calmness and closure and I think in some way Joanne helped with that (even though it is a constant journey), and now I need another dancey distraction to help heal me with some mental health and life issues like this new album did with gaga so i'm right here with her and ready for this new album, but will never forget miss Joanne

Spoiler

something that also gets me about Joanne is that it has country influences (the genre I grew up on and my moms favorite) and my mom was not a fan of gaga since she was "weird" and wouldn't give her a chance. I just wish my mom lived long enough in a way to hear Joanne bc I think it might have sold her on gaga and made her a little more supportive of having gaga as my idol (my stepdad loves gaga though).

Gaga, I’m so grateful you wrote this record. You helped me to experience so much pain in my life that I wasn’t able to face alone. Seeing you travel through this trauma and arrive in a place where you’re ready to re-emerge in a new form is a constant reminder of resiliency and the joy or embracing change. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
