Gaga's best written song is a filler, so I'm not worried. I don't mind one or two fillers as long as the songs are so good that they had to be released

Which one is that?

That might be a side effect, but that's not why she put them on there. Firstly, we don't even know if they're long or short interludes. We're just assuming they're shorter than the songs on the album. However, when you've got songs like Sour Candy that are [supposedly] 2:37, maybe having 2-3 minute long interludes isn't a stretch.

She added them because they helped with the story telling of the album. Sure, Gaga wants her album to have commercial success, but not at the expense of her artistic integrity.

Well, we know that one them is 1:27. Also, didn't Admin say that the three interludes combined lasted less than 3 minutes? I could be wrong though.

I mean, it can be both commercial and artistic at the same time for sure, but I think it's more commercial because she never did it before and because the songs seem to be extremely short

The way I define filler is that a song that is added to fill space in the album, that doesn’t have potential for a single (dance, power ballad or ballad) nor does it resonate well as a fan favorite, either so it remains just another track on the album that no one cares about that feels more like something that was added to fill the space than the make any impact, regardless of the artist’s intention.

A "filler" is a song that is added to fill up space. That's it. Plain and simple. Not "it doesn't have the potential to be a single, nor does it resonate as a fan favorite." Those are not the definitions of a "filler."

What you are saying is subjective. "Fillers" not are subjective. Y'all need to understand that.

If Interscope told Gaga, "we want 20 songs on 'x' album," and Gaga just started writing and recording songs to fit the album without taking the time to think about them or actually caring about them, that is a filler song. Just because it isn't commercially viable enough to be a single or it isn't a fan favorite doesn't mean it's a filler.

Y'all need to stop using the word "filler" to describe songs you just don't like. A filler is an objective concept, not a subjective opinion.

Some also think one of the interludes is 27 seconds long, from the suspected track lengths in the Chromatica weather post :vegas:

Yoü And I. Gaga herself said that the song had nothing to do with the album, which is true, but who cares, it's a BANGER

Just because she never did it before doesn't mean that it's a mostly commercial choice. Maybe she just wanted to do something different for this album. I do agree that it's both a commercial and artistic choice, but it's definitely more artistic in nature.

I mean if you define fillers that way, it’s a good contender.

I just never looked at like it’s a filler. It always felt like a song that has elements for a commercial track. It wasn’t overly sexual like Government Hooker, nor weirdly sexual like Heavy Metal Lover that she’s fear radio would avoid it. It felt like a typical American down-tempo track with good lyrics that has potential and is strategically placed in the album for that regard.

'Filler tracks' are literally just opinion

Unless 95% of people agree that a certain song is boring and lackluster then it's not a filler track, it's just not for you

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.
