I absolutely love folk music. I listen to Bob Dylan, Linda Ronstadt, Joni Mitchell, Indigo Girls, etc. all the time One of my all time favorite albums That recording just isn't particularly good. No well-versed folk musician would take such an upbeat song and make it that painfully slow with no pay off. By all means make it slow, strip it down but then do something with that. I think LWYMMD could make for a really great and interesting folk record, but this ain't it. She said “couldn’t be worse if it went out of it’s way to try”. The thoughts she wrote about Gaga were from 2010 and at the time I don’t think Gaga had shown her full abilities yet but spoke about her “artistry” so seriously. (I agree, you hear TFM and all you hear is glow sticks). I doubt Joanna would think the same about her today, especially after a Star is born.
