I can see some advantages like watching Videos/Games but even then wouldn't that get a bit straining on your eyes being that close? The only real thing I could see it having a major advantage with convenience is for a Camera but I get why they couldn't do that since it'd be creepy. They are for AR, think if you are walking down a street and you could see arrows pointing your direction, or think about in sc-if movies when they have huge holograms on buildings.
