First of all, the full version song didn't leak—well, it did, but it was mere hours before the release—which is a wonder considering that practically everything else had leaked (in one way or another) and it had seemed like a full blown Rebel Heart scenario was about to unfold. And yet it didn't. The video stayed completely intact and we got to have that moment unspoilt. And what a moment it was! First of all, the song is just the bop the gays needed. I love how layered the production is and the nu-disco / funky vibe suits it so well. But the video takes it to a whole another level. It's pure, aesthetically pleasing fun that's not devoid of meaning, either. It's masterfully done, really. I love how campy & awkward it is at some points, that just makes it all the more endearing. And I stan GaAri. Their interaction & the countdown they were doing... the memes Ariana was tweeting... it's just so wholesome, as was the entire experience. It transports me to a world where queerphobia never existed, where the little gay kid inside of me got to grow up completely free and fearless. And on top of all that, everyone else seems to be eating it up as well! Even the people who have been like meh at first have turned and they love it now. I honestly haven’t experienced such excitement and pride in a song for so long it’s insane. Gaga and Ari really did THAT!!!
