Is Gaga Ok?

She has many mental health struggles, and very likely always will. She will probably never be perfectly "okay" as we like to think of it. But she seems to have a great support system and a team of doctors helping her.

She talked about it quite a bit in her Oprah interview in January if you're interested in her talking about it more in depth.

The good thing is that she's open about it and always working on it and not pretending nothing is wrong, which is the only way she can be as healthy as she can be.

She’s always going to have her mental health issues, it’s never going to go away completely. It’s important that she’s handles it in a healthy way when it comes back.

It's all part of the promo. Mental health sells.

The hype is real.

She's talked about having a psychiatrist.

She has mental health problems though. You shouldn't be dismissing them because she's a human too

All things considered, she seems okay? She seems to be very open about her mental health issues because she believes it helps others and she says she has help.

During the ARTPOP era, she often came off completey incoherent, drugged out, and like she was in a manic phase. Some of her comments about Chromatica aren't entirely clear imo, but I think that's more due to her not always being the most articulate. Also, she seems more new age/healing crystals/zen, even when she rambles and some of her answers aren't entirely clear, nowadays...which seems a lot healthier than how she came across during ARTPOP imo even if she's talking about dark subjects.

Also, not to be a downer...because I do think she probably is okay (she's talked about having good doctors) and all & she comes across as way more healthy than she did during ARTPOP...but now I'm sort of wondering if one of the reasons she doesn't do as much promo anymore is because of her health issues. She can be "okay" but still in a somewhat delicate place mentally and emotionally, and I wonder if traveling/opening herself up in interviews/etc. the same amount she used to do might be too much for her to handle.

Seems like she's on the mend, and is doing better. But definitely not "great".

She has talked for YEARS about her physical, emotional, mental issues. Why do we always forget that?
And our toxicity at times doesn't help.

Get the pinot ready, because it's turtle time.

She has been getting help. As she said in this interview and a few before this, she has a doctor who knows what medication is best for her depression and fibro without using painkillers because she is prone to addiction.

Addiction and depression have always gone hand in hand for her it seems. In different forms, different obsessions. Through the years a lot has changed for the better. She seems to take better care of her body, she quit smoking, she is not in a relationship with someone that isn't right for her, she even talks in this interview about considering complete sobriety. But maybe she doesn't even have to make that decision. Maybe when she keeps doing what's she's doing she might end up having a more balanced relationship with alcohol.

Watching this interview reminds me of how open she's been, almost since the very beginning of her career. It's very uncommon for someone in her position to share so much with her audience. Sometime it was a bit concerning to me (BTW ball time for example) because she would cling to us so much and you could tell she was hurting emotionally (as wel as physically we later learned). We could cheer her on, but we couldn't help her.

She's in a much better place now but it will take time and I'm forever grateful she took us on this journey with her. It's  helped me a lot with mine. She's amazing.

Pretty sure Gaga lives with BPD which is a lifelong thing you have to kinda just deal with and learn how to manage. She has def not been ok since c2c, she was a hot mess in 5 ft 2 for example lol. I love her to pieces and I'm glad she's honest about where she's at. It's very normalizing and helpful for other people who have chronic mental illness
