She is saying it like Lana wasn't brutally criticized for years for her lyrics and persona.

If you didn’t read my post, Gurl, I’m also going to stop at yours where you mentioned you didn’t read mine. I mean, I’m open to a conversation and a debate here but if you aren’t going to be respectful of or even consider other people’s views and opinions then you deserve none of it in return. Good luck to you and the small minded pile of sand that you’ve buried your head in. Good luck to you.

I just can’t. It’s absurd to think that way in America in this age. People have carried that thought process for decades it’s still contributing to racial prejudice. I am not saying that Lana Del Rey dislikes black women. I’m saying Lana Del Rey should’ve been more aware of the current social atmosphere she’s in. She’s mentioned her patriotism throughout her discography, and she’s doing work to benefit Native Americans. It’s obvious she has some amount of passion for her country, and black people are a part of that. For her to ignore that fact that her post was guaranteed to be accused of being racially fueled is ignorant. It’s disrespectful to the women she mentioned. Lana Del Rey is a patriotic American celebrity who should’ve undergone PR training. She should have known better. We all should know better.

ALso, I'm sure the album won't be released on September 5th. After all, it's Lana we're talking about :ally:

The fact they’re Woc has literally no correlation to the reason she’s mentioning them.

then why are they ALL woc chile?? she basically 'implied' they're all successful cuz they sing about being sexy and having no clothes and ****ing and cheating smh

she could've literally thrown out the first paragraph and changed it to something on the lines of

'so happy these women are getting no.1's by singing about whatever tf they want, men have been doing it  for the longest time without getting dragged. this has inspired me to sing about whatever tf i want to like i used to without fearing backlash'

instead she went on a dumb tirade by weirdly mentioning all but one woc pls

also lana aint the first one to sing about abusive relationships, women have done it before her and BEEN dragged. and women still get dragged for singing about the things she mentioned. just cuz the songs are going No.1 (mostly cuz of tik tok challenges) doesn't suddenly mean people stopped dragging these women.

also the albums where she has sung about these things have also been her most commercially successful records. so when u look at it that way, her WHOLE post was pointless :smh:

So she should have censored herself lest some people wrongly assume she’s racist?

It could easily be considered inappropriate, or disrespectful for a white woman to publicly intrude on the collective success of her black female peers.
With *ALL* things considered Lana should’ve known better. At the very least she should know that it was distasteful.

Since when people are not allowed to name or even criticize someone just because their skin tones are different? This mindset in american people is really unacceptable. Just because I am white, I cannot say something negative about who happens to be black? Not everything is about race. Bringing race to a topic that has nothing to do with race is racism in itself. This behavior would definitely not be accepted in Europe.

As much as I understand the POINT she was TRYING (She tried it) to make with that post, the wording is wrong wrong wrong

like Lana except Ariana, who weirdly many people mistake for a woc, all the other women you mentioned are actually ALL woc lmao??? Like what’s good girl

and that part wouldn’t nearly have irked me if it wasn’t for her mentioning Kehlani.

Kehlani has NEVER had a No.1 album or single and isn’t NEARLY as successful as the rest of her peers inc Lana. And her last album is full of breakup songs. Like mentioning Kehlani literally felt like she was randomly shading WOC than trying to make her point which was basically about her getting dragged for her early lyrical content . But Lana this ain’t it.

she basically said these women got number 1 songs by singing about fvcking and cheating and having no clothes???? Her privilege SHONE thruuu very very disappointing

 @britneygaga99

also luv, learn to read i specifically mention in the above post why it feels she was dragging WOC. she completely made her post related to WOC when she mentioned Kehlani, who doesn't have a number 1 on any chart
