The idea of the Snyder Cut originated shortly before Justice League was first released back in 2017. Snyder directed Justice League principal photography, however a family tragedy caused him to step down for reshoots. He was the replaced by Joss Whedon, who was reportedly given free reign to make changes and had final cut of the film. Before Snyder stepped down, Warner Bros. supposedly asked Snyder to lighten the movie’s tone and make it a little funnier, thanks in part to the extremely negative reactions the dower Batman V. Supermangarnered and the positive audience response to Suicide Squad.

 

According to Snyder’s Vero post, the Justice League: The Snyder Cutwill be available on HBO Max sometime in 2021. “We have a little work to do on it.”

Actually, the DC Animated Universe just had its finale movie and it was super dark and gory.

I enjoyed that series of movies and the cinematic universe should take notes...

This actually annoys me so much. The movie came out 3 years ago and people still continually hammer for the “Snyder Cut.” Watch this be just as mediocre as the movie and then people will complain about how they “waited all this time for THAT?!”

The DCU is very flawed but I actually like its dark tone. Not everything needs to be light and comedic. In marvel movies (except for the majority of Infinity War and Endgame) even when there's a serious moment, it has to be interrupted by a stupid joke. Even other franchises (star wars and jurassic park) are getting the marvel treatment. I like it for the MCU but not everything has to be like that. 

I doubt the Snyder cut will improve massively on JL but I'm curious to check it out.

I'm going to laugh when this comes out and all the fanboys that wouldn't shut up about it realize that it doesn't make the movie that much better.

Didn't dc already decide to kind of ignore most of their early DCU movie stuff in favor of soft rebooting + recasting batman and superman anyway?  I thought Wonder Woman and Aquaman were still in since their movies were successful, this version of Flash who knows, then Batman and Superman would be replaced.

Yeah, it's not a really good movie. Honestly I forgot everything about it. And if movies move away from the dark tone, I think that studios would be taking the wrong message. It didn't flop because of the dark tone (it might affect it a bit considering MCU is a family affair) but because of reasons as you mentioned: script and the shoddy CGI.

DCU does nothing for me. Wonder Woman was the only one that really struck gold. Batman V Superman was a catastrophe. These types of cuts shouldn’t take 4 years to be released. It’ll be released and everyone thirsty for Snyder’s version will criticize it for doing nothing to save what’s already out there. I mean what more could you possibly do at this point? That would be like MARVEL re-releasing new cuts of all 4 Avengers films.

Wonder Woman was good until the final boss fight, it just looks like from a PS2 game and the manifesto ugh was annoying.

JL was just terrible and nothing can save it, Snyder's CGI is still stuck in the 300 era, it was nice at that time, but like move on.. the plot was just not good at all, the villain was a bad choice for an all star movie.

Also the major problem with DC is the almost almighty superheroes, it's good in the comics, but on the big screen it's not and when you add all of them together, it's just making it boring, there's no weakness in some sense.

This is why the batman movies were always more successful, he has a weakness.

I am seriously shocked this is going to be a thing. I’ve been indifferent on the Snyder cut but I am very excited to see it. Some of the photos he’s shared has scenes that look like a lot of fun.

I don't know what extra chunks of scenes could add to this aesthetically pleasing but messy worthless plotline of a movie. Wont waste time on it

I mean, the movie was awful and lost money so I’m not sure why they are funding this.
