OMF 3,483
No she is not. Gaga had a MASSIVE hit with Shallow and ASIB recently and she also killed it in every major appearance, especially at the Super Bowl.
Lord Temptation 11,209
The last time Brit was as relevant as Gagita is right now is 2007.
thopekas 723
Here in Europe Britney’s last true hit was “Womanizer” , and then the only song that had a moderate success was “Scream and Shout”, Femme Fatale never gained popularity in European Countries, it was a thing in America I guess, only Britney Fans and Gays in general knew its existence out of USA . And that’s the truth tea
JRCF29 8,219
Hmmm. I’m totally mind****ed that Gaga is at the same point in her career now that Britney was when Femme Fatale came out I believe Lady Gaga is an A-List pop star, and I think she’s had continued success throughout the decade. Although I definitely think from a pure “music” standpoint Born This Way was her peak, she has since been in a popular TV series, performed at the Super Bowl, starred in a critically and commercially acclaimed film, released two #1 albums (3 w/ miss ASIB) and is about to release another chart-topping single. If the COVID-19 crisis hadn’t been upon us, she would have for sure been much more relevant right now and at the forefront of the GP’s minds. I think with proper promotion SL could’ve still been in the top 40. Unlike Britney, Gaga has also had to deal with the recent rise of streaming. Artists like Ariana, Dua, Halsey, *ix *ine, etc. all debuted and/or gained prominence at a time when streaming (Pandora, Spotify, Amazon, AM, YT/M) was the norm. Additionally, and I won’t harp on about this one, Britney’s team was- or at least appeared to be- much more organized and focused than Gaga’s current one is. It’s not to say she has a bad team, because I think her management gets a lot of unnecessary hate just because they’re not perfect or giving every individual fan exactly what they want when they want it, but the promo for Circus and Femme Fatale vs the promo for Joanne TL;DR: No, Gaga isn’t as relevant as Britney was at the same point in her career, but it’s not necessarily a reflection of her as much as it is the circumstances surrounding her. Femme Fatale produced a #1 hit solo. and FEMME FATALE was extremely hyped it broke records for trending 6 days straight on twitter when it was first announced. so simple answer is NO the kesha and nicki remix of TTWE made it #3. It was like #9 before the remix I think

That will give you the easy answer to this question. what has respect have to do with relevancy lmaooooo britney was more popular in 2011 than Gaga is this year (so far) in the US worldwide, Gaga is more relevant
Arloway 147
No I don't think they are similar at all... See, Brit made a "come back" in 2008, but she was no longer interested in or passionate about her music career anymore. She made a few hits but they were just catchy songs that people like to listen for a while and then forgot...She had no personality since 2007, which explains why her stardom to fade away so quickly because she isn't that interesting to the GP anymore. Gaga, on the other hand, has reinvented herself at least three times since her major flop 2013. She reached out to different groups of audience(Jazz, Country, RnR, TV, Movie) and build her name as a reputable brand. That's why everyone says she's so "respected" because she has multiple distinctive images already and she can do anything. And the most important thing, she has some die hard fans that support her no matter what. As Brit also has a huge fanbase, I don't see them as die hard as Gaga's fanbase. I may consider Madonna's "ray of light" era more of a similar point for Gaga's current status. Madge experienced some sort of flops and backlash since Erotica, and Bedtime Stories did well but not as good as her 80's albums. She then reinvented herself completely for Evita and received claims and regain her popularity. Then she made a comeback to pop music with Ray Of Light and with a brand new character, similar to what Gaga is doing right now. ROL is such a high quality and advanced album at that time and it received many acclaims. If Gaga's Chromatica were as successful as ROL, I believe this is the era that will lock Gaga's name to the Legends category. (Keep in mind none of ROL's singles reached no.1 on BB100, not even the album itself. Numbers aren't the only way to tell if a project is successful or not)
Doot 2
8 hours ago, Ori said: That is an achievement, not a hit. If the song stayed in the top 10 for a few weeks then yeah, it could be a hit. Unfortunately, as much as I wish it was true, Stupid Love did not snatch the GP. Dope was #8 - does that mean anything? Any song that spends at least 3-4 weeks within the Top 40 of the biggest music chart is technically a successful hit.

GagaUnderYou 4,994
Gaga & Britney are in different streams. Britney wishes she could be the artist Gaga is tbh Britney has definitely had some bumping tracks over the years but it should not be compared to Gaga's success at all. Imagine Britney singing Shallow
