I really miss back then. It feels like the world in such a different place now. This will forever be my favourite memory of the Chromatica era, having this screen on my phone 20x a day: At the time most of us thought it was a Born This Way outtake, little did we know we were listening to the lead single on repeat. I know there are many of you who really dislike Stupid Love, but it will forever hold a special place in my heart. I started stanning Gaga in 2015. I'm a bit ashamed to say it but I was one of these people that disliked her pop work and really only came around for the ballads. I eventually came around to her pop records but I gained a newfound appreciation for her music after stupid love. The first time I put on stupid love I was floored with pure joy. I couldn't stop smiling. The lyrics are simple but convey a message so strong that you feel embraced with love. I really wish the world wasn't in such darkness now. This music calls for celebration, but many of us are experiencing hardships that make it feel impossible to put on a smile. I think this has caused many of us to be turned off by Stupid Love. I've been depressed from the quarantine - not being able to see friends and being stuck with my homophobic family. I'm also under severe stress dealing with schoolwork and cello. Listening to Stupid Love now just feels wrong, i'm not in the state of mind to celebrate. I made a visual to help explain this feeling. It just feels like i'm hearing "If you're happy and you know it clap your hands" during a funeral or something. That's the best way to describe it. I think the virus is finally slowing down, so hopefully this summer we can listen to Chromatica and celebrate! What is your favourite memory of the Chromatica era so far?
