I was reading Rain on Me's wikipage and I discovered a fact:

"Rain on Me" was first mentioned in Gaga's March 16, 2020 interview for Paper Magazine. The song, then unknown to be with Grande, was described as a "monster of a dance tune, but its message is about submitting yourself to devastation - a flawless dance floor crier as a "celebration of all the tears."[3] Gaga disclosed that she had collaborated with a "fellow female pop star who [had similarly experienced] immense trauma while in the public eye" and went into depth about the genesis of their song: "I sat with her and we talked about our lives. It's two women having a conversation about how to keep going and how to be grateful for what you do." The song was revealed to be inspired by the similar traumas the singers experienced, including the 2017 Manchester Arena bomb attack that happened at the end of the Manchester show of her Dangerous Woman Tour on May 22, 2017. Coincidentally, the song will be released exactly three years after the bombing.

I don't think this delayed date is a coincidence. :oprah:

Her fans will appreciate a dance track over a ballad.  I remember one of the mothers of the victims telling Ariana to “sing the hits” at the Manchester memorial concert.

Happened on my birthday, I was so in shock, I was supposed to go but after the person I was going with got foot surgery we had to sell our tickets..

I did get JWT tickets as a gift from someone else but that got cancelled too :ohno:

I dont believe that delaying of the album was planned from the start, but releasing rain on me on this date surely was. Cant wait

Unless the person that manipulated the virus is the same one whom dropped the bomb in Manchester :sure:

Everything could be everything (it could mean anything)

If the song is truly about mental health problems and traumas (I believe Gaga said this in her Elle interview?), then it will be incredible. :bradley:

I live in Manchester and I remember this night, I had so many texts from all over the country asking what happened and we didn’t even know for a long time it started off as a rumour that a speaker had burst or something until it fully came out what actually happened.

I can’t believe it’s been 3 years already and the city is still feeling the ripples of it, well it was before rona shut us down.

im hoping people don’t call her insensitive for releasing a song on that specific day

I'm excited for the song. Imagine a No Tears Left To Cry-like song with verses that are more sung

They shipped it, but it got shipped back

. :o this song is gonna be a bop, and if they decided to put it on that day, it's more like : she still remembers it. Hope no one's gonna feel bad about it. But they certainly are aware of what they are doing so I don't think there is a bad intention.

hello hello baby.

What's the source that the song is based on that?

And as a Wikipedia editor myself, this looks poorly written.

It's not exactly based on that, it's just that Paper Magazine reported that the artists talked about their own respective traumas and Ariana's one was notably the bombing.
