Penned by Jun Eishima and supervised by Yoko Taro, the novel covers the events and story of experimental Squad M, an all male squad of YoRHa units, before the events of NieR Automata. These events are believed to be what happened to lead to great rebellion of every male unit, and thus their discontinuation of every model except scanner models.
