I met Le1f, and was hanging backstage with him, and he said that none of them get along. I think it has to do with the fact that Le1f and Mykki are tight with Brooke Candy, and Azealia started beef with Brooke.

I still love Le1f and Mykki Blanco. Two amazing rappers, isn't it funny how beef has started within this little clique of gay-friendly rap because regular, straight rappers are too afraid to touch it?

I wouldn't know either one of them existed if it wasn't for Azealia.

They are just bitter than Azealia is put at the forefront of queer rap while they are barely mentioned and paid dust.

I root for you. I love you. You, you, you, you.

I heard about Mykki Blanco through Azealia. But his music stands by itself, and doesn't rely at all on Azealia.

Meh

I wouldn't classify Azealia as queer rap. She isn't gay, she just has a large gay following. Le1f and Blanco are both gay/have transgendered influences. They're in a totally different game.

From a Senior reviewer at Sputnikmusic.com:

Azealia Banks adequately represents this breaking of the walls, but she also radiates street cred in the same vein as the A$AP crew and Venus X. She also represents the advent of queer rap, which has finally arrived as a cultural force to be reckoned with, what with the rise of Zebra Katz, Le1f, and, of course, playfully self-appointed queen Azealia herself.

Her music does favor on the queer rap side (although she is bis-xual, not gay) but her style choice, beat choice, and her themes do have some similarities with queer rap. Especially with songs like Fierce and how she references gay New York Ball culture. Fantasea was pretty much "queer rap".

I root for you. I love you. You, you, you, you.
