I'm not very educated in this subject but I've been reading some tweets lol some like big hit, jyp and starship are meh, not great and not awful (in terms of treatment, they aren't too different to many western labels), but sm entertainment is very famous for repeated mistreatment, body negativity, starving idols, not supplying proper healthcare and such. and yg and pledis are even worse. Fam, clearly you are not familiar how stanning culture is in Asia. Especially in South Korea and Japan. Stans actually have power over groups. Do you know how many band members been excommunicated, getting booed on stage when they sing their part, or even pelted, that the management were forced to eliminate their contract with said "problematic" member because they will only drag the whole group downotherwise, because their fan base turns against them for all kinds of reasons? And for the same reason, they also have power to demand the management to treat their bias much better. You can say A-Z about rights and all that, but those standards does not apply in East Asia showbiz.
