What’s additionally disorienting about reports like these is that Hillary literally did win the popular vote by a lot, but still lost bc she didn’t get the electoral votes. So it could be true that Biden is leading for now (and even through election night itself) and still 100% lose to Trump lol. That said, I genuinely believe Trump is going to win popular and electoral because Americans really are that stupid

Not to be pessimistic, because I hope we beat Trump, but that is also what the 2016 polls said. 

We also should act as if the polls are meaningless. We don't want people to say "well the polls show him winning so I don't have to vote". Well yeah they show him winning if you vote. Even if you live in the bluest of states, VOTE! I think it will be very hard, but we CAN do this!

I agree 100% to this. Biden was definitely not my first choice, but it's either him or Trump. I'd rather it have been someone more progressive, but I'd rather have Biden than Trump.

I don't really see the similarities. Their pairing as President/VP aren't very indicative of how alike they are. Obama ran on a much different platform than Biden is, and Obama's campaign had a lot more energy behind it. On top of that Obama wasn't well known in politics. Even now, I think Obama will have pushed a more progressive platform than Biden will, and Obama honestly didn't do all that much (either because he was corrupted or because of a GOP controlled Congress).
