Guest
I have watched a video a couple of times now on YT regarding Taylor Swift's strategy regarding her album sales, in the video the person talks about how she only makes the album available when buying it physically or buying from iTunes etc. After watching, i thought of clever and well thought out her release and promos were throughout her era's including deluxe editions, fan/promo events and merchandise. Although, i have to say the whole 4 versions of the album were a bit pointless though and i didn't like how you'd have to purchase 13 versions of the same album in order to get a better chance at getting tickets to the tour. What do you think of her strategy ? should Gaga do things like this ? although she kind of is with the pre-sale code but a lot more fair, plus the merchandise and deluxe versions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RLLwEovSWMw
Ryusei 61,036
you were able to do a lot of stuff that was free like sharing on your social media etc to improve your pre-sale ticket position during rep era too. It's just hardcore fans that wanted to be FIRST in line like literally who bought a lot of albums to improve their positions. Also starting with Lover the album was on streaming right on the release day. The 4 versions to me is like a "why not?" situation because the idea was really cool to have parts of her actual diaries in them and having blank pages at the end to make it yours or to use it for whatever you wanted. It kinda gave the physical copy a use beyond storing your CD. Musery
stateofgaga 49
She did released 4 versions of Lover, mostly because the album was going on streaming right away but no one had to buy 13 versions of the same album to get concert tickets. That's just not true
