Indian-origin musician Lara Rajagopalan, a member of the girl group KATSEYE, was targeted as she was reported to the ICE as an illegal alien. In a screenshot of the anonymous ICE tip form, someone claimed that Lara Rajagopalan did not obtain the necessary status to remain in the US.

This comes as ICE increased its raids and crackdowns across the country and president Donald Trump has vowed to expand the ICE raids, especially targeting sanctuary cities and Democrat power centers like Los Angeles, Chicago and New York.

But Lara is a US citizen, though, she was born in India. Her mother, Kavita Rajagopalan, is an Indian Tamil and his father, Sri Rajagopalan, is a Sri Lankan Tamil. Soon after her birth, the family moved to the US and Lara spent her childhood in Dallas and Los Angeles. In 2018, Lara appeared in a video by Michelle Obama's Global Girls Alliance.

Lara embraces her Indian origin in her music style and fashion as she often sports a bindi. Recently, she came out as queer.
