True. Because the words are vague. Be alert is like saying be vigilant. Be vigilant of what?... Each other. 

And the belief will be we're allowed out because we're watching out for people in groups. It's like an us and them mentality and we're not in it together anymore. 

Exactly people will take advantage of that and have more gatherings and it will be ok because they are "being alert". It doesn't really mean anything.

I think lockdown should continue as it is. 

Only its not okay. If more people are gathering, the more and the higher the chance this virus can spread... I agree people need simple words. But Stay Alert compared to Stay At Home is much more vague and less impactful. I agree, lockdown should continue as is for another 3 weeks at least

I know it's not okay. That's what I'm saying. It's the belief that people will have.

If you want my personal opinion, they could never enforce a full lockdown. Look at the London riots? I don't think they were able to do it.

They relied on us doing what we were told and now that isn't working. They're switching their tone so it seems like now they are letting people do what they have been doing already.

And the GP would have found excuses to justify their own breaking of the rules regardless tbh.

People still aren’t listening to lockdown rules at all and this won’t help which sucks. I keep getting annoyed all the time at work because of it.

Now do not get me wrong, it is much more unclear than 'stay at home' we can all agree that's pretty clear. What they are trying to do is change their tone, because they are clearly planning on easing restrictions. And that is a different issue on it's own.

Nah, stay alert causes confusion. People aren't stupid, they grasp the concept of the word alert but be alert to what? COVID? Others? Distancing? Policing? You need to be extremely cautious, consice and transparent with these things. People all have a differing opinion on the virus but one transparent, clear and solid message from government is needed.

Honestly people often aren't prepared to do the little research it might take to find out the clear guidelines that will follow once he addresses the nation tonight.

Then if there is any confusion you can head to the Gov website for clarity
