My 'Chromatica' theory

I think it's really interesting how the album starts with 'Alice'. She's probably referring to Alice from the 'Alice in Wonderland'. In the fantasy novel, there is a "magical" mushroom that can make Alice change in size and hallucinate the world that the novel takes place in. What if that "magical imagined world" in Gaga's vision is the world of Chromatica? Gaga's kindness punk character would be her rendition of 'Alice' where she narrates her own world and makes herself the focus. Gaga is really aware of all of modern problems going on in the world and would imagine herself as the focal point or "hero" of the world, fixing issues amongst the tribe and spreading kindness which has always been her main aim.

Gaga would imagine the said issues as metaphorical tribes of real living people:

Kindness punk - Positivity & love, etc

Freedom fighters - Human rights

Junkyard Scavengers - Diversity and labour rights

Government officials - Justice and equal rights

Eco warriors - Protecting nature and the environment

Cyber Kids - Media brainwash

---------------------

Side theory, Gaga has teasing butterflies since the pre-Joanne era. Alice also has a butterfly character, a metaphor for growth? It might be a reach but I find it interesting...

I guess you could say that the entire 'Chromatica' world is based on hallucinating while under the psychedelics effects but that's my theory :giggle:

I find it interesting because this is also the concept of Perfect Illusion's music video: Gaga in a desert imagining a world. Thoughts?

Well the whole no one thing is greater than another and the genetics/epigenetica argument is like a common revelation during a shroom trip

So far Chromatica doesn't sound like that type of music at all though but we've got like 15 to discover so we never know

Love this thread, I agree with your theory a lot and Babylon closing it off feels like the perfect symbol of a real world crumbling down due to human differences. Also interesting to note that the push to legalize psilocybin for treating PTSD and depression is growing, and Gaga said before the album is about healing trauma. So...I'm here for ShroomsGa, bring on the new psychedelic revolution!
