Gaga didn't co-produce Stupid Love: What does this mean for Chromatica?

Most musicians don't produce their songs. They write it and get a producer to produce it. They get credit because they added an idea or did it Beyonce style. It's pretty much the norm. So even when she did have credit she wasn't doing the lions share anyway. This is true for Taylor Swift, Florence and the machine, and most musicians. Some, like Beck , will write, produce and plate Evey instrument on their album. But they are rare.

Who cares? Honestly- just enjoy the music.

I don’t mind that she doesn’t produce the track

but if she ever stops writing her music its going to be such a disappointment

well she didn't stop writing, but lately she's been working with a huge team that she never needed before.

majority of asib songs has 5, 6 songwriters, shallow 4. sl 5.

I noticed this when it came out also. I was kinda confused bc I admired that she wrote and produced so I was a little shocked. Hoping she produced the rest of the songs on the album because that is definitely something that sets her apart from everyone else

I find this really strange too. She's usually always very hands on in the studio, and that earns her a producer credit, so for her to seemingly just put together the rough cut and send it away to be produced is very out of character. The only other alternative is that she opted out of being credited so the other producers could get more credit, but that seems odd too.

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

The audacity of GGD to make fun of people for cowriters when Stupid Love had Gaga + 5 cowriters and none of them came up with a chorus. :trollga:

Why did I think Gaga didn’t produce much of her songs?

Like I remember when she revealed Venus she made a big deal about her producing it so I thought it was the first time she did that:rip: does she actually do a lot?

I mean she has tons of creative control and writes it so that was more than enough for me to respect her as an artist

Yes, it was Bad Romance. He came up with the intro and Gaga came up with everything else and he got credit.

That's really shocking to me. In the album, his name comes before hers on the writing credits, so I always thought he wrote most of the song

I don't know how to write in english

Interesting I didn't notice that 🤔

I automatically assumed she'd be on the production credits for co-producing every single track, since that's what she's done for all her prior studio albums (except The Fame)

I don't think there's any track from her previous 4 LPs(TFM to Joanne) where she doesn't have a production credit. She's that involved in making music for her own albums. Like, I imagine her telling the producers that she wants the beat this way, the kicks and snares and drums that way etc. She obviously knows music producer jargon and has a part in production for each of her songs, small or large. I can't remember but there was an interview where she talked about the bass, hi-hats, snares, kicks and drums in very detail. I believe it was for ARTPOP

And this is just one song, I'm pretty sure we'll see her on the production credits as the tracklist with contributions is revealed :firega:

Imagine calling the woman who decided to raise $128 million for Covid-19 in two weeks lazy... like that was a spontaneous project that she felt was needed and she did it spectacularly. Which lazy person would make such an enormous undertaking and complete it in 2 weeks?

She said that she took a different mindset with the production of this record. She didn't want to get 'territorial' and be like 'this record's mine, that's yours, let's not touch each other's records' so she probably just passed Stupid Love around a lot so that she could use everyone's talent to the song's best potential.

She hasn't co-produced most of The Fame song and this album is just legendary.

She produces  every single track.

Venus was special because she produced it ALONE, without anyone's help apart from Madeon's minor tweaks but that was really her creation solely.
