It's primarily a hook up app. So in no way shape or form should someone needing "validation" because they are insecure go onto a hookup app and then get frustrated. There are thousands of people who met on Grindr and established relationships. Five years here. We met on Grindr. Last boyfriend, dated for over a year. Met on Grindr. It's illogical to think that going onto a hookup application where the initial connection is based upon appearance is going to yield "omg I'm not overly attracted to you but let's figure out if I'm attracted to your personality." That's not what Grindr is for. It's primarily used for sex, and in the world of sex, it's based upon appearances. Guys who I would never have met otherwise. Ye its definitely full of creeps etc but you just have to learn how to navigate it and be a bit street-smart about it. it's definitely not for everyone.
