This change is a further example of one of the many reasons why the label "confirmed cases" (used by some to designate total cases) is incorrect (see definitions for more details). The US CDC (and Worldometer) has always used the label "Total Cases." Canada is another example where the "total number includes publicly reported confirmed and probable cases [source]

Even though it’s being massively discouraged, people still have a right to think for themselves. I shouldn’t have to put anything in bold. I do it to combat the mass hysteria and to put people at ease and to show that it is still possible to question the order of things, source real data carefully and make your own informed decision.

oh also most of our houses that back up to the water are completely open and lack privacy on the side that faces the ocean (huge windows/no curtains to maximize ocean views), so if the beaches really were public, you'd lose all sense of privacy

Yes, I'm aware that probable deaths are being included now in the counts. This is not a red flag for me due to many researchers' opinions that the deaths were previously being underreported do to lack of testing and overwhelmed healthcare systems. While a test is ideal, I also trust that physicians would be able to make a judgement call, especially in the areas seeing the most cases. I'm not sure what your interpretation of "presumptive laboratory evidence" is, but AFAIK it just means a positive test at a health facility that hasn't been confirmed by the CDC. This seems fair to me given the situation is changing so rapidly. It's almost inevitable that we see adjustments, possibly in either direction, later on once we have a clearer picture, but that is the nature of science. 

Regardless, this information is good to post and something for people to keep in mind. It paints a clearer picture than the original quote you posted, which was really my only issue. 

Yes people should be skeptical and questioning things, but imo a good portion of the mass hysteria is coming from misinformation and incorrect interpretations of scientific literature. It sounds like we can agree on this. However, I don't think any of the evidence presented at this time supports the notion that the numbers are being intentionally artificially inflated. That was how I interpreted your original post so, again, I simply wanted to clarify that specific quote for others reading who may have not known what it was actually referring to.
