Guest
So, as most of us all know a lot of artists sometimes hit a rough patch in there careers. For example Britney in 2007, Taylor Swift in 2016 and Madonna in 1992. In 2012 thats when the the hate for Gaga seemed to get worse and i think it bothered her, the year started out with the feud with Madonna over the BTW comparisons and shots were fired on the tour. Then 2013 came around.. different people had dissed Gaga, from other artists to the gp labelling her as "over" and constantly trashing everything she does to the constant comparisons to other record sales and career success, being injured on the BTW ball and having to cancel and then ARTPOP was constantly labelled a "flop" and it was help up to BTW success with the album not having the best roll out. 2014 wasn't all round a bad year but it wasn't the best, The ArtRave was a success and well received yet people had said the tickets weren't selling yet the venues were sold out, Gaga had seemed sad and tired in interviews and this was the first time in her career where it seemed like she was ready to give up. Now it brings us to 2015 to present day, Oscars, AHS, C2C Tour, Joanne, Super Bowl and ASIB. Gaga has worked so hard and I couldn't be prouder of her, but it makes me said that the hate she got hindered her and with her being so open about her mental health issues how did she survive the hard times throughout those years ? what stopped her from giving up ? DC 25,164
I think it was her passion to create and keep making music that "saved" her and her career. Anyone can just stop, but she knew she had more to say, like the talk of Mental Illness AND the story of Joanne at the time.
Dr Fudge 8,635
I think she survived those years and thrived in the following because she has such a strong close knit inner circle (including her family). She didn’t skyrocket to fame and just leave them behind, many came with her. That said, they were likely involved in the pivotal moment when she decided to split ways with Troy Carter. I think he was sending her down a sinking ship path and Bobby saved her, professionally. Troy and Loriann Gibson definitely helped shine light on her gifts, but Bobby got her to enjoy her gifts. Been a cuff touple, a puff bupple, a tough couple of years.
Aglaya 8,388
She stopped listening to her fans that's literally how she succeeded. She did all the things she wanted to do as an artist and that was to create a jazz album w/ Tony Bennet and to focus on her vocals and her acting career. could mean anything

I went to twelve artRAVE shows and many were not even close to being sold out. Have to add that in there. she survived because she had people around her that supported her and did not let her succumb to the dark thoughts. Mister Gaga 22,889
Well, she didn't. Gaga, as we used to know her, doesn't exist anymore. She changed. Madonna remained kinda similar, personal and artistic wise, after her backlash, for example. But Gaga, the girl behind the aura, is not the same. There are obvious differences when you analyze Gaga's career and personality pre 2014 and this version we have now (with all of it's highs and lows!). She changed a lot, actually. If something remains equal, that's the power of her voice and kind heart. But she has contradicted her old self, truly, a lot, even in some ways that the 'old' Gaga would be horrorized. 27monster27 12,986
The main issue that I have with this time is that people always make it sound like Lady Gaga sold out after ARTPOP to regain her fame, which isn't true. C2C was planned, executed, and (mostly) finished even before the ARTPOP announcement in late July 2013. The change in LG5 concept was not a career move, but one that Lady Gaga took as her own venture as she felt that she needed to make an album about her family. ASIB was just something that Lady Gaga wanted to do because she had developed an increased passion for acting, and to further establish her acting career. he/him/his
Skabi 3,096
literally by changing her team and creating a new one that cares about how SHE feels instead of just trying to milk money out of her, the same team liddel monstrosities want gaga to fire

It is just that they lowered capacity most shows by half. For example, arena shows with normally 20k people went down to ~10k. he/him/his
gumzy3000 7,282
I think it is simply due to the fact that she is an artist. She was always creating and I think that was a great way for her to let out her frustrations out with everything. It gave her a medium to share her thoughts and I think it was important for her to feel understood and loved. In ARTPOP, she compares the relationship of ART and POP with herself and her fans. I think this is what helped her get through these terrible years too. The love she has for her fans and her "dream" for ART and POP to come together. trolly troll troll

The show in Greece, girl I have never seen a stadium so empty. Paris first three shows were played at a smaller venue because of how she was selling. Las Vegas and Arizona shows were so sad. People were being being upgraded and brought to the front. LA artRave they were giving away free tickets outside the venue
CELINE 655
Her Resilience and Versatility saved her artistic recovery. Bobby also did a tremendous job on giving her a full 180. gotharunway.com

Like with Taylor, I'm sure shrinking her inner circle and falling in love probably helped a lot. Remember when she said she almost gave it all up and had baby after she broke her hip... what 27 year old hasn't felt that way tbh It’s interesting how Taylor was kind of there through that entire portion low of her life MTN-AHS and then she won the Golden Globe and repeaked and he wasn’t anymore please enlighten me to death
blankpaper 21
As much as everyone likes to whine about Bobby, he’s probably the best thing that’s happened to her career. Besides completely repositioning her and getting her to a second career peak, he treats her like an actual human reality’s tight if the music is right
