AMC Theatres on Tuesday delivered a blistering message to Universal Pictures, saying the world's largest cinema chain will no longer play any of the studio's films in the wake of comments made by NBCUniversal CEO Jeff Shell regarding the on-demand success of Trolls World Tour and what it means for the future of moviegoing post-coronavirus pandemic.

This includes: Candyman, Halloween Kills, Halloween Ends, Jurassic World and other titles along with future Blumhouse projects

I feel like this is going to hurt AMC more than anyone, since moviegoers who want to see those films will just go elsewhere.

PirateBay, ha return :firega:

But on a more serious note, assuming they’re not just talking because they’re closed so won’t have to implement this soon, this could really hurt universal. More than people seem to think.

Most anticipated move of 2020 for me is Halloween Kills. Blumhouse makes good horror too! The conjuring franchise.... Yeah :bye: AMC and Regal... Wait , what other good theater chains are there? :enigma:

Not when Regal and Cinemark just joined them though...

This is kind of absurd. It's doing well now because people CAN'T see movies in theaters, but I feel like deep down people still like going to the theaters and will continue to do so when the time is right again. I personally am not a big fan of going to the movies and I only go maybe one a year, but there should be some middle ground here.

I mean... I would rather see these at home anyway rather than teenie boppers laughing in :ohwell: middle of a suspense or horror film. I kinda understand their position to stop advertising, imagine if you had a great deal of business and the other decided to branch off to make more money? Do you really expect people to go to the theatre though if it is available on demand at the time of release?

Eh.

I'm fine with them releasing Halloween Kills on VOD so I don't have to listen to annoying people in the theater talk through the whole damn thing.
