question

Could the delay in the tour cancellation be because of the album sales?

How does that make sense? I don't think she would get her part of the money before the tour ends, so the money from the tickets can't really be donated anywhere... and the donations from big companies that she has wormed with don't really have any connection to the ticket refunds from her tour.

Not the tour, @brownie stated she held back the album because of the bundles and albums sales.

I replied "probably Interscope held it back for the sales / bundles, while Gaga did it to raise money for the virus."

Which she did

smart move on her part tbh. and no one gets hurt in the process

Actually a lot of people probably need that money now since a lot of people have lost their jobs. They obviously didn't expect all of this to happen when they bought  the tickets. Holding them for so long without any information or refunds is very sh*tty, regardless of who's behind it.

A lot of people also booked hotels and plane tickets and all that for this tour and are probably waiting for information to cancel all their bookings.

I thought that bundles don't count towards the chart anymore? Or have I misunderstood. Somebody posted about it recently.

I meant reschedule for next year or something lol. Not push it back a couple months. This is happening all over the place. Red Rocks is rescheduling all their shows this summer for next year and only giving people 30 days to request refunds. It’s shiitty but it’s par for the course right now

Yeah. I wonder if that’s possible with the movie filming and finishing the Enigma contract.

Most of the time, she doesn't pick the release date for her own albums, that is typically what labels do.

I'm not sure, but even if she does want to release it, maybe her label won't let her.

I dunno, to me this seems a bit excessive... holding onto the money people might need in this situation, just to secure a better chart placement... The ticket bundles are a bit of a scam anyway, no matter who does them.

the thing is... if it gets postponed (instead of cancelled) they're still gonna hold onto the money, as pretty much no artists are offering the option of a refund (if it isn't a total cancellation ofc)

if the dates are rescheduled for a much later date, a refund is usually offered as a possibility

hopefully that does happen... none of the shows for me (some rescheduled till next march) are offering refunds.

I am sure they are trying hard to figure out how to reschedule the tour and will only cancel when all avenues have been exhausted.  Lots of artists have not cancelled their tours but simply rescheduled for later this year or next summer.

Would kinda mean she literally held the album back for sales / bundles, no....? Bling not the music?

Her postponing the album shows us that the whole thing was for the bling.

That benefit concert she set up, could have been done concurrently. It raised a ton of money yeah, but no one is talking about it anymore.

The tickets were probably sold out, and if that's the case, it makes no sense to delay for that reason

At this point, yes. They know 100% certain the tour can’t happen and almost every other artist has postponed and said dates will be rescheduled at a later date or like Kesha who just canceled. If the first date isn’t for another 2 months they’ll probably announce the cancelation the month before (so middle/beginning of June)
