Thank you, the entitlement of some people is shocking

Exactly. I mean, not being a fan of stay at home policies is fine. But making you argument to reopen the country center around Starbucks and ignoring the status of the health system that disproportionately affects minority communities is disgusting.

The info is all there. We know why we are in lockdown. We don't need any other "reasons". These folks think it's all a conspiracy...

We aren't going to tolerate bratty opinions on here acting like this virus hasn't already killed 65k+ people and counting in the US.

Less than flu season 2017/18. And no. not because of lockdowns, because countries that didn't follow lockdowns had the same (or even less) deaths than us.

We are on lockdown to bend the curve and help out medical professionals on the frontlines. We continue to see tens of thousands of new cases every day as well as thousands of deaths.

NYC used less than 60% of hospital resources it thought it would. Beds sat empty, a Military ship remained unused in port.

Stop downplaying this virus as if it won't affect you or your loved ones. This incessant need to ignore this whole pandemic for a $4 cup of coffee is pathetic.

That 4$ cup of coffee represents countless jobs in south america and africa, allowing people in those countries to feed their families and barely keep above the poverty line.

Because of the shutdowns, 250 million people will be pushed into starvation. For comparison, at the 0.78% mortality rate that we are currently observing, the virus would kill 67 million of the worlds population

Listen up.

We aren't going to tolerate bratty opinions on here acting like this virus hasn't already killed 65k+ people and counting in the US. We aren't going to take seriously your petty demands for Starbucks when that's literally the last thing we should be focusing on. Black and brown communities are struggling to fight off this virus due to the lack of health coverage and attention from politicians and negligent folks like you. And tbh, their lives are more important than your iced coffees...

The fact that you act like this lockdown as some sort of oppression of your Starbucks intake is one of the most privileged things I have ever heard. We are on lockdown to bend the curve and help out medical professionals on the frontlines. We continue to see tens of thousands of new cases every day as well as thousands of deaths. So don't sit there and tell us that this is some agenda to keep you from your Starbucks.

What's in it for us? Idk, maybe the well-being of those most at risk? Not having this virus kill 100k more people if we hadn't taken precaution. We don't need to find new reasons to tell people to stay home or at least practice social distancing when outside. We have already known these reasons since March. And it doesn't take much brain power to do so.

Stop downplaying this virus as if it won't affect you or your loved ones. This incessant need to ignore this whole pandemic for a $4 cup of coffee is pathetic.

Fck the economy, it’s just for rich people! It definitely doesn’t affect everyone’s ability to buy basic necessities, and it definitely won’t disproportionately affect the lower and middle class when it collapses. Let’s stay home forever and stick it to the rich! :neyde:

The fact people are thinking you were serious about the Starbucks comment :saladga:

Hence why the government SHOULD be helping us. But with politicians like McConnell not working for working class people and instead working for corporations by not allowing liability policies when forcing people come back to work.... LIKE YOU WANT, I find good reason why we shouldn't be allowing forcing people into such situations without protecting them. Those people won't be able to get their basic needs when sick and out of work with no money because of liability laws. So again, your argument is flawed as I already said that the economy can't work if we send everyone back with no increase in testing, PPE, and policies that help the lower/middle class workers you pretend to care about. You guys have zero idea what it means to reopen the country in the middle of a pandemic. We need protection for workers and yet y'all refuse to even mention that. Only coffee. And yes, I do take that seriously because it's the only freaking argument you seem to even have in these "arguments" you make. Especially when it's about a topic that has killed 65k+ people and will most likely climb in the 100sk.

Any person in favor of social distancing and shelter in place will tell you that the economy will have to reopen. Of course. But you don't just do that without preparation and acting like the current policies are completely pointless. I definitely in favor of ending lockdown policies in certain areas of the country, but without the actual necessities and product needed, you're allowing people to take a huge risk with their lives. Especially when our system is already so f'd.

A mindless comment about wanting to be able to have some fresh air and enjoy a Starbucks drink got you heated. I understand, it's difficult right now but that rant was a bit much

Nah it ain't. Because it wasn't a one-off comment by a frustrated user in the middle of this pandemic. They've been trying to downplay not only shelter in place but the whole virus as fake in general. One of my friend's father just died this morning due to the virus. A healthy man. A public figure/leader. It's personal. I don't need to be seeing the same trolls who have continued to downplay this to now treat it as some rainy day that is stopping them from getting coffee.
