I agree. I don't think her manager is the one to blame but Insterscope instead. Labels make decisions based only on profit, let's not forget that "Applause" wasn't Gaga's first choice for lead single of ARTPOP, for example.

I think she should just finish her contract with Interscope and then create her own label with an distribution deal with UMG or Sony.

not sure why this site (and other Stan sites) think the manager is the be all and end all of an artists career and image. His job is to take calls and book shows for her and to get her in touch with people, it's not to dictate her image, direction or sound, that is the job of her creative director, which she doesn't really seem to have these days. Forcing promo on her is a label decision, not Bobby, he just has to arrange the stuff that Interscope and Gaga want him to.

I think no one should ever work with their friends or become good/close friends with people they work with. That ruins the professional relationship and by doing that people kinda allow themselves to be unproductive. Bobby is doing that and I stand by what I said. Bobby is a good friend and should stay a good friend but Gaga needs a manager. As much as I hate Troy I feel like Gaga managed to have that professional relationship with him and that’s why he did his job properly.

Amm no? Manager is responsible for everyone in her team and is responsible for every person that works for Gaga. He manages everything they do for her. Manager by definition is a person responsible for controlling or administering an organization or group of staff. To make it simple - he dies everything. If he doesn’t like the direction something is going to, he has the power to shut it down.

His job is very administrative, he will make sure that all her travel plans are organised, that the promo her label has requested is booked and that she is happy with everything that is going on with the staff around her. It's not his job to sit her down and discuss which shows she's going to be performing on though unless Interscope asks him to do that, and he's not going to handle the creative side of things unless Gaga requests for him to let a creative staffer know that she's not happy. He's just a go-between

No he's been fine. You can't compare to her early years because she is not in her imperial phase anymore so she's not gonna seek every opportunity out there. The same is true for current Taylor and current Beyonce too. Whereas Dua Lipa will perform on every gig and Ariana will hop on any track because they are still in their imperial phase.

The only misstep imo was Joanne. People were thirsty for Gaga and she gave that. She also wasted the Oscar hype imo. But neither of those are management decisions. Gaga is still the one calling the shots anyway.

Agreed..people seem to think he is a manager like us regular folk have managers at work. For A listers, a manager is more like their assistant.

I voted yes. Nothing against Bobby, but I’d like to see a well oiled machine of professionals handling Gaga’s career vs what is happening right now.

The way this era started and then flatlined with only spikes due to leaks is incomprehensible.

I actually think it makes him a better manager! He understands and empathizes with her struggles mentally and physically, so he doesn’t push her to do things she doesn’t want to. They seem like they’re on the same page so I think that makes for a better relationship. By the way, Gaga is not unproductive at all, lol.
