Blows my mind how everyone can go on and on about wanting to save lives, but they don’t give a shiit about the millions and millions of people who will die from the economic collapse. As long as we stick it to the corporations and rich people though right?

Yes, which won’t be the case if people continue to have these giant ass protests where people don’t social distance or wear masks. It’s the classic American perspective of “its not affecting me so it’s not a big deal”.

I believe many people in my area, including myself, contracted Coronavirus in November last year. I’m considering being tested for the antibodies to satisfy my curiosity. 
For a few days I had moderate fatigue and slight soreness in my throat which was bearable. I went to work (at Walmart as a front end manager) and powered through the discomfort until one morning I woke up with Pink eye, and an aggravating cough like I had an itch in the very bottom of my throat. I went to the urgent care and was tested for strep, given a steroidal eye drop, and an antibiotic to treat upper respiratory infections- I did not have fever. The nurse practitioner explained that it was some kind of “bug” that wasn’t the flu or strep but it appeared to be contagious and that she had been super busy with the amount of people she had seen. 
 

Just makes me wonder..

Many states remained open for most of the time or only partially closed. All Grocery Stores, Costco’s, Sam’s, Walmart’s, Walgreens, Targets, Fast Food places, Restaurant take out, Home Depot’s, Lowe’s, construction, gas stations, banks, and even many churches stayed open. Most parks and open spaces stayed open. There weren’t curfews or certain hours or certain days people could go out.

People aren’t thinking that at all, because it is affecting them. 20 percent unemployment is affecting them and their future. Stimulus money and unemployment benefits are temporary but an unemployment rate at 20 percent with an economy brought to a standstill is a lot more dangerous than a virus with a 99 percent survival rate. Periooodddddd.

Because at this point this is political. You can try and fool anyone to thinking it’s not but it’s clear as day when opening vs reopening is being identified in party talking points. And Fauci isn’t going to start speaking in favor of any improvement to conditions because he suddenly loses prime-time demand and the extra power that comes with the inflated importance of his role right now.
