If someone is posting in a way which is disregarding a valid statement I made (that the virus isnt getting better in the states), the facts need to be said again.

We can't talk about possible releases or plans without recognising that for the next year, there is no "right" time.

It's only political because it's a fact; if science is disregarded, the virus will be here longer.

This is a Chromatica discussion, there's no need to bring those political themes here

REALITY

You cannot deny the country influence on Joanne. It was the trend on 2016. She never spoke about religion and god in such a basic way.

It was a blatant attempt to release a safe album. Country is one of the safest genres that sells in America. There's a heavy country influence on 80% of the album, yes, even songs like john wayne. The GP bought it.

You cannot compare BTW's use of religion to Joanne's; BTW's purpose was to recontextualise it for the 21st Century; Judas, Black Jesus, BTW, Electric Chapel. They're not as basic as Million Reasons saying "I bow down to pray, lord show me the way", with a music video of gaga being lost in a desert and found when she receives a crucifix.

Her activism post TIHTY has been nowhere near as ballsy as it once was.

This is the same woman who stood on stage in Russia and said Arrest Me and went onstage with an army of survivors.

You're basically agree when it comes to ASIB (which I loved) and Enigma; they're loved by the GP. Fans dont like enigma because its styling is messy (which it is), and its narrative is messy (which it is).

You're proving my point, it's less about being connected to fans and more about appealing to the GP.

yes, we got iconic photoshoots but when she wont say "okay....here's what's going on..." to the fans that are going to drive it album, its a bit disrespectful.

Its frustrating to support her at times because shes been such a huge part of so many lives, but she's left us in the dark for so long.

She's not going to be able to do shows safely for the next year; if the US loosens restrictions too soon , the disease spreads like crazy and she puts 60k people at risk each night.

France has cancelled summer concerts and the UK will follow, yet there's still no statement.

She needs to respect the fans and make a decision. Ignoring us wont make us go away, and Covid19 is leaving anytime soon.

How was "country" the trend in 2016? If anything, there were actually other artists that were inspired by Gaga for making Joanne and in turn made their own "down to earth", stripped back albums as well.

If Gaga wanted to make a "safe" album, she would've made another TFM or BTW. Those were her best selling records. To take this hard left to something that no fan would expect in a million years is literally the opposite of safe. When your previous work is TF, TFM, BTW, and ARTPOP, to then go to Joanne is not "safe". It thankfully worked out for her.

As for BTW's use of religion vs. Joanne's...Yes, artistically speaking I would agree that BTW had more clever ways of incorporating religion, but I was responding to you mentioning the fact that Joanne was "religious". You can't complain about her making a "semi religious" album, which again, really isn't all that "religious", when she has stuff like BTW.

Her activism hasn't been the same? She spends literally all day talking about mental health, women's rights, etc. Hell, she has 911 and Free Woman as tracks on her upcoming album.

As for ASIB and Enigma, again, fans do love that stuff. It's just a vocal minority that doesn't, especially with Enigma. If fans didn't love it, then her show wouldn't be packed. Sure, some of the costumes aren't great, and the acting sometimes is questionable, but it's only a vocal minority who hates it. Again, it's doing well critically and financially.

Finally, as I've said literally dozens of times in this thread and in the previous Chromatica Discussion thread, I think it isn't great that she's been silent for so long. Personally, candid photos here and there would be enough to satisfy me, but it's equally frustrating to see literally 3/4ths of this thread be dragged down by unnecessary, hateful comments.

Let's just hope that she announces stuff soon. People have said that early May would be when she starts the era back up again. We can only hope.

You are coming off as an entitled "Karen" thou. It hasn't even been a full month since the album was delayed. Technically the tour is still happening. No postponement has been announced yet. A lot can happen still in the next 2 months. She already made her statement about the delay. Sorry it wasn't the one you were expecting or happy with. If you and the other "Karens" feel so strongly about it then cancel your album preorders now by emailing the vendor you purchased from and call Ticketmaster to try and get a refund for your tickets to a concert that hasn't been canceled yet. See how that goes. It's not up to Gaga and Bobby to personally be responsible for refunds because a bunch of dramatic fans want an album release date "NOW" or "I want my money back" attitude because thats exactly how it sounds and is coming across. :toofunny:

Releasing in late Q2 makes no sense.... nobody knows what is going to happen, what if there's an infection peak again in July for whatever reason? If you have no certainty in the future, delaying is playing russian roulette...

To be fair. I have paid and been charged over $100 for the various releases and merch through her website that I wanted for Chromatica. It's a preorder and preorder can always be subject to change - she didn't hold guns to our head and tell us we had to buy before they were released after all. The only difference between preordering and purchasing the day it comes out is we get charged sooner - we don't get anything extra or early because of it - it also doesn't grant us a free pass to act wild.

If you don't want to pay money for it while waiting just ask for a refund, her website and just about any other site has been very accommodating about it - just the other week I requested and received a refund on the clear vinyl once I opted for the picture disc instead. I didn't have to state a reason, they took care of it in 2 days and money was back in my account by the end of the week.

The album was delayed because of a global virus outbreak. Any talk of new plans has to coincide with the fact the virus is here for the foreseeable future.

It's not my fault that Gaga is solely focused on a release that could revolve around mass gatherings that wont be happening for a year because people arent taking the virus seriously.
