I understand that but I felt like it lacked a certain element of irony/self-awareness for it to be successful at being camp, but let's not go down this hole because everyone has definitions of camp, in the end maybe it's just a matter of personal taste. I think it fell flat because it's not what the general public wants from Gaga, or what her fans are seeking either. I was looking forward to her return because I expected a level of sophistication. Yeah, I grew to like the song, but it still is not the quality I grew to expect from her, especially after the roll she was on with her super bowl, sound of music, a star is born success.
