Is Gaga on Madonna & Britney’s level in terms of Pop Royalty/ Legend?

I absolutely agree with everyone saying Gaga is in her own path.
Her artistry really is more akin to Bowie/Elton John/Michael Jackson - this kind of generational 'iconic' figure, she's our new one, and that's the reason why I continue to follow her, I genuinely think the best of her work is yet to come.

I think if she had released consistent pop albums she would have been on their level?

Gaga was really going uphill with TF, TFM, and BTW. Like they were 3 solid pop albums. But ARTPOP, as much as I love it, was a messy era that didn't continue her trek upwards as it could / should have. Between the failed app, the only 2(?) singles, lack of promotion, etc. It didn't do her any favors.

Then she essentially took a 7 year break from pop music...because of Cheek to Cheek and Joanne - also didn't do her any favors. To be a pop legend you kinda have to release pop music...it's in the name, haha. And unlike Country ---> Pop (Taylor Swift) or Rap/R&B to Pop (Nicki Minaj), it's not as easy for an artist to be successful when they deviate from their main genre. P

I said it before and I'll say it again: Gaga doesn't have to reinvent the wheel every time she makes an album. It's okay to release an album of just pop bangers. It doesn't always have to be filled with secret messages or hidden meanings or critical thought. It can just be about the music and having fun.

I'm excited for Chromatica because I love Gaga and want her to be the pop queen I know she can be, the one she was in the late 2000s/early 2010s. Chromatica is her chance to get back to where she was and she can only go up from there. As long as she stays away from releasing more country albums.

They’re all different, but Gaga beats both in pure talent and versatility. Madonna arguably was a true trailblazer for all the females since her, and Britney had the sexy girl next door likability and stage presence that launched her to superstar status.

Gaga is unique is her own right in how quickly she rose to superstardom and achieved that status, how talented and risk-taking she has been, and how she has succeeded in so many areas of entertainment and genres of music in the small amount of time that others would take entire careers to morph into. She’s truly a one of a kind artist.

Yeah I feel she’s the only one that has all qualities a legend in the making but she lost her way with ARTPOP and it shows. I think she was going through like a midlife crisis kind of thing like second guessing her career choices since she did pop as a mockery like poking fun at it. I mean she had a lot of jazz type demos before she became Gaga. Maybe it’s like a realization of “ i can’t believe I become what I was making fun of” hence that time doing more serious type music. So I’m glad she’s embracing her pop side again, this album is in the right direction and she’s got plenty of time to earn her spot.
