Gay and bisexual men are statistically more likely to have HIV/AIDs and not know it. The problem is is that there is usually a 3-6 month incubation period of the virus before it shows up in a test and you can't just wait for it to develop in the blood after giving it as blood and plasma have a limited shelf life - and I'm not sure that it even would develop until it would enter another body. I have a confession to make... in high school there was this blood drive going on where we could donate blood. At that point I wasnt a virgin anymore but I had only slept with the same guy twice. They asked me if I had sex with men and I told them no. I knew I didnt have anything that would be transmittable so I didnt care that i lied. I honestly think it is the dumbest thing to not let gay men donate. Which is why I considered it a big f*ck you to the rules set in place. They are gonna test it for everything anyways.
