Science just told you that the mortality rate is similar with the flu. We should take this information, make more studies to be sure and then see what we can do.

But u can continue to not compare with the flu, because this is some kind of tabu for people like you. It just shows how uninformed you are, because all scientists compare it with the flu. 

I'm going with the scientists, u can go with whatever category of people you think are more important in fighting this.

A day or two before he got sick we also went to a massive event at a conference center in a city next to us, which is now the epicenter of the virus in our state  So, I sincerely hope we didn't have it. I'm ready for anti body tests. 

Same here. I’ve been braving the world and the one going to the grocery stores still when we were stocking up. A few weekends ago J had a severe tightening in my chest and shortness of breath especially at night. Lasted a good 4 days. I’ve been loading up on vitamins and hot drinks like green tea with gingemere. The challenge with antibody testing is determining how long they remain in your system

All I can read is the replies on Twitter criticizing the methods of the study. 

You have consistently tried to downplay this disease on here and you know it. 

By "compare" I mean people saying it's nothing worse than the flu. That is false at this point in time. Maybe when we have a vaccine and better treatments that will be true, but as of today, the reality is it's incomparable in that sense and the number of dead will exceed any flu season in recent memory.

yeah, exactly. I've been curious on that and I want to do more digging on antibody tests and how they work. It just is weird to know we may never know, but there is a chance so many of us had it.

I'm also the one going to the grocery store. I get that if I get it, my boyfriend will get it, and vice versa, but it's still better for just ONE of us to go than both. I don't understand the people who are going to the grocery stores with their whole families. I don't like chancing it.

The reason for much more damage from Coronavirus vs. seasonal influenza is that the former can attack potentially everyone at once because none of our immune systems have seen anything like it before. It can spread more quickly because it is far more contagious than seasonal flu, with latest estimates being that each person with CoV-2 can infect nearly 6 others.

Flu can’t spread as rapidly, because so many of us have had years of prior exposures and vaccinations, making for immunity in the population to varying degrees that block a sudden, overwhelming explosion of cases.

Also, drawing the conclusion that the fatality rate resembles that of a seasonal flu is puzzling. The surge in serious illnesses and deaths that hospitals in New York City and elsewhere are witnessing clearly does not happen every year, and that is despite unprecedented mitigation measures.

This virus is obviously unusually dangerous.

There are conflicting reports regarding people with asthma, so you should be very carefull until they say if you are part of risks categories or not.

No. I didnt downplay it. I always said that I understood the precautions and I see why social distancing measures must be in place for the next months. I dont agree with the lockdowns.

I cant copy the article. That's why I used the tweet, but even those issues are mentioned in the article.
