That would make zero sense. People need to work, governments can't support people that long. Italy and Spain are already softening their restrictions, and I believe Italy is more or less lifting lockdown on May 3rd (there will still be restrictions but most people will be back to work). The UK is a few weeks behind them, the USA is maybe a couple months after that at most. Gaga probably won't be able to tour anytime soon but to say she won't be able to do any TV interviews or live performances...

Sis I’m talking about attending concerts, full sport events, festivals, clubs, touring that won’t be back until next year yes of course people will go back to work but entertainment in general is not happening cause it’s not safe
RRR 3,996
Does she really need to perform it on TV? Nowadays artists just get promo from viral Tik Tok videos.

Chromatica is a dance album, the audience needs to be in a celebratory mood for that. TBH, I wish people would stop saying this. Literally everyone I know and beyond that are using different mediums to take their mind off of the pandemic. People are engrossing in video games (Animal Crossing, Persona, FF7 Remake, etc) or binging series on Netflix (which is why Tiger King blew up) or catching up on reading. And yes, also listening to music. Shocker. The arts have ALWAYS been used as a way for people to keep their spirits up. The idea that people are too miserable to listen to music is ridiculous. If we use that as an argument, then we'd never enjoy or listen to new music because there's literally always something bad going on somewhere in the world. I've said it before and I'll say it again: I'd much rather have an album of new music to sing and dance to in my house than to wallow and think about how awful everything currently is. Maybe I'm the weird one. Idk.

That concert can still happen imo just on a closed set with no audience. In June she can film with a skeleton crew and edit it in post and release in July. I keep tweeting that to Bobby hoping he sees it because I’m delulu

Maybe I'm the weird one. Idk. You’re not the weird one. It makes more sense to want to have something to look forward to and distract than continually live in the despair of the news. Not to mention David Guetta did a DJ set outdoors that brought out hundreds of people in Miami on their balconies and it had over 100K live streams. It feels like some people who take the stance of the OT expect all major music release to take the path of “waiting it out” for months or possibly a year and that isn’t happening especially when there are other avenues to go. Just because gaga can’t be seen for 1 minute in the streets via a paparazzi pic or she can’t perform in person for a TV audience doesn’t mean all hope is lost. She’s not going to just sit around for the rest of quarantine doing nothing after this great big event she executed which was a feat in itself and should prove what can be accomplished in 2 weeks while everyone is in quarantine. She got the biggest musicians in the world to come together and produce a highly acclaimed variety show for a great cause. If anything I think she has the ability to revolutionize the way rollouts are done and adapt to what’s going on, she’s always been innovative, so I’m hoping and almost expecting that she doesn’t disappoint with what she and the label decide to do for the promotional strategy. Scooter liking comments saying ROM is coming soon. Not to mention Blade who has been more than reliable. She’s not putting stay tuned on her website for another year nor even continuing to keep the album up for pre-order if that’s the case. It’s unfortunate what the pandemic did to the roll-out, but Interscope and other labels are going to have to adapt strategies accordingly. And that’s regardless of the fact that I’m a little “Junester,” it’s just facts. 11 hours ago, NoahSuns said: She is releasing it before the end of summer it's not nice having a thread every other day trying to make people sad at times like these you know how much we want the album This thread is not meant to make people feel sad, in fact you feeling sad also means I will feel sad, because I want this album as much as you do. And yes I know what Gaga said about the 2020 release date, but I was making arguments about how promotion could be done, rather than what Lady Gaga said. I had to put my focus on the real situation out there in order to get the most realistic picture. This thread is not "When will Chromatica come?" This thread is about "Is promotion really possible?" They are not the same and don't have the same arguments. I could find 100 arguments for Gaga intending to release soon, but they don't translate to the possibility of promotion. The Guardian reported that people streamed less than when there wasn't a pandemic. A lot of social events involving music have not been possible, usually these events also lead to audiences go back home to stream the same music again, which is not happening now. Also the corona pandemic has dominated the news, Gaga not only needs to compete with news space, but also the general mood of the public. Ryan Tedder said that no one can compete with the amount of corona reporting right now.

People really think the quality of online streaming performances is the same as on-stage performances with intricate lighting, custom-made outfits, tightly choreographed dance routine, band arrangements, etc.? Gaga is not a DJ that hides behind his instrument like David Guetta does. Gaga has way higher and more ambitious visions than some of these B-list artists do, that's nnot something I have to prove, right? Besides, why do people keep pretending online performances are the same as physical performances? Look at Dua Lipa's Dont' Start Now performance at the VMAs/EMAs and the one she did on James Corden. She sat in front of a computer, bopped her head, wore something that could be found in H&M, with their dancers all over the screen in a living room, how is that as fun as something like Coachella, Itunes festival or award shows?
