“Does a business owner have the right to refuse service to an LGBTQ individual or same-sex couple on the basis of faith?” nnnnn

Faith kills. What about LGBTQIA protective rights instead of phobic and permissive excuses to harm. And what? Those businesses could have crossed out pink triangles on their doors? That’s fcking terrifying.

Ikr it doesn't make sense

Following their logic they would refuse service to any non-Christian and their business would die, it's so obvious how they're using their religion to justify their personal prejudice and it's disgusting :messga:

Human Rights > Religious Beliefs.

The second you allow religion to overtake the Law you give life to all kinds of bigotry and hatred.

I didn't know ordering a cake was a basic human right :laughga:

Inside, we are really made the same. 🕊

You know those kinds of people, Give them an inch they'll take a mile and refuse service of any kind on the basis of religious beliefs. At that point it's outright discrimination.

Not necessarily.

We don't know if they refuse to serve specific individual types or just specific themes

@Suspiria brought up refusing to bake a cake for MAGA. Does that automatically mean u refuse to serve anyone who's a Trump supporter? Or just that specific aspect u don't agree with?

This doesn't even necessarily mean they don't serve transgendered people as a whole

So their business wouldn't necessarily die

Yea that's a very good point, I guess it still stings that people are able to justify their own prejudice by using their religion :messga:

I’m all for dragging homophobes but at what point do we say “they don’t deserve out money.”?

He didn't refuse service to the woman though, he just refused to make a trans pride cake...

While I certainly don't agree with his beliefs, I don't see how this is all that different than a liberal refusing to make a MAGA cake, or a pro-life cake.

First of all, a pro-life cake would be weird af.

Second of all, I missed the story where someone refused to make a maga or pro-life cake.

This is his business and he decides who to make the cake for.

As a customer I will go to another baker and he will get my money. End of discussion

It's simple.

Nobody has the right to tell you that you must provide this service.
Since I provide the service, I can decide who to deliver it to.

And yes I'm gay

If you're given two choices:

- The Christian is forced to make pro-LGBT cakes, and LGBT bakers are forced to make cakes with Bible verses which they disagree with, or...

- Everyone is free to refuse to create art they disagree with.

Which would you choose? Would you like the state to impose that you have to bake cakes quoting the anti-gay Bible verses? :air:

Giving people artistic freedom will not stop you getting a cake for any occasion. And I'm certain a cake baked with love is better than one baked by a seething Christian who hates the LGBT community :rip:
