She's an A-list multi-millionaire artist now. With all of that being said that doesn't mean she can't be authentic with her work anymore, it just means that every little detail concerning her career has to be managed at her star caliber. For example, you simply cannot compare her management to someone in the likes of Dua Lipa who's only been in the mainstream for several years. I'm not disagreeing with what you're saying. But I don't think Gaga "distanced herself" over all these years because her fans are so terrible. There is a loud terrible minority just like any fanbase. Yes, she can't be sustained on diehard fans alone, but the bulk of money for artists comes from touring now, at least as it relates to music, and GP/casual fans who are not that invested in her are not going to spend money to see her on tour. Lady Gaga has always spoke about wanting to heal people with her music and help them...and then she chooses to not release an album that would lift up spirits when we actually need it the most? Yeah, I'm not buying it. This was a calculated move, IMO, because they wouldn't have been able to get the coverage they wanted to and thus lower sales. It probably wasn't even Gaga's fault, TBH, but her labels, but it was a money based decision - not a benevolent one. Because "this isn't the proper time to release a happy album" is complete bullcrap. I can't help but feel jaded as a long-time Gaga fan because if she really was all about love and healing people with her music, this album wouldn't have been delayed. But none of us knows when quarantine is going to be lifted, and she probably wants to be able to shoot several videos and release them with some more singles before the album. She even stated on Fallon that she quarantined herself a week before it was nationally implemented so we don't even know if there was anything other than SL filmed. Of course this is my own speculation. I want to believe that she want's to feed us with a full era instead of giving us some momentary satisfaction and having other plans fall through. Do not try and guilt those of us that are disappointment with this garbage. Maybe she’s struggled mentally, but she literally has someone do her f’ng make up with her own f’ng makeup brand and cook her meals for her each day next to her own private studio. Meanwhile, some of us literally lost everything within the last few weeks while she’s scripting planned phone calls with Tim Cook for donations that are going to be reimbursed in tax breaks next year.
