Guest Adarsh
You don’t have to strip naked in order to sell sex. Look at the Shallow performance at the Oscars. That’s very sexual and people bought it.
blankpaper 21
A history of sexual abuse can result in hypersexualization so it could be possible that she toned things down as she’s worked through the trauma reality’s tight if the music is right

That said, she shouldn't have to be sexy if she doesn't feel like it. Or After Dark I do feel like she's more in control of it and deliberate about it than she probably was in the beginning of her career though

I think those were meant to be sexy.

I also don't feel like being 30 equals not wanting to be sexual, but I understand that one might get tired and want to change their aesthethic or the point of her art. Do you feel like the weirdness and sex was purely to sell records? didn't she admit that it was at some point?

ToxicHot 6,444
I have a feeling this will change with one of the Chromatica videos..... just by looking at the album cover, I think there’s going to be a lot more sexiness coming our way. Stupid Love video was just meant to be fun and kind of corny, I guess. Also some of the instrumentals from the Haus Labs videos give off a sexy vibe. dOnT sAd ReAcT mE 2 bE sHaDy i WiLL RePoRt U!!1! Yes and you mention music videos, but there's only 4 real ones since G.U.Y. One is for a ballad, and the other 3 have in my opinion definitely "sexy" looks in the videos. The only reason I can see for argument of them not being "sexy" is because she's not running around in heels in 2 of them? But she also is in the middle of a desert dancing in sandy terrain that heels are extremely impractical for walking let alone choreography. Like let's just look at some clips from Perfect Illusion and Stupid Love. Crop tops, shorts that literally show her entire butt off while she go-go dances to a rock oriented song is most certainly sexy Pink latex bra and panties with knee high boots topped off with spikes, a choker and chains AND a purple metallic strappy bodysuit that leaves very little to the imagination. All these videos have been very much up on being sexy and showing her body off in a confident way that shows lots of skin or has movements that up the sexiness. If she were wearing high heels this wouldn't even be questioned. Just cause she's not in heels doesn't mean the entire look is somehow not meant to be sexy...
