The brand new album by The pretty Reckless is finally out! A really good rock & roll album!

Anyone else here into them? Thoughts and opinions?

Not their best, but better than the last album! Love me is one of their best songs. There are a few catchy songs too.

DESTROY UR DISEASE

I gave a listen to When I Wake Up yesterday and I really liked it. Might do the same with the whole album (aswell as the rest of their discography one day) :vegas:

I do kind of think they peaked with Going to hell, it was such a catchy vibey album. The last two were a bit clunky but this one is quite smooth!

Ooh lucky! I'm considering seeing them in the fall, but I'll see if I don't rather go for Tarja or Evanescence :ladyhaha:

Evanescence is a really fun show. I’ve seen them a few times and would recommend. This will be my first time seeing Pretty Reckless but from what I’ve seen try to see them at a smaller venue. They are touring with AC/DC (Stadium) simultaneously headlining their own tour (smaller). Good luck with your pick!

As much as I do continue to like them, this was definitely their "worst" album, but only by their standards. Not great, but above average. I think the best ones were For I Am Death, Dragonfire, Dear God, Spell on You, Eye of the Storm, Devil in Disguise and Dark Days. With Spell on You and Dark Days being the 2 big standouts. But overall, this was all rather...middling. Which is a shame considering how long they take to put out albums. After nearly 5.5 years, I was really hoping for something more substantial. But they're getting the best reviews ever from critics. But that's nothing new for me. When I don't like something, others tend to love it.

Ah dude! I used to love this band

Especially the first couple of albums and EPs, and went to see them in Manchester when I was at school.

I don't think they're as good now but I still keep an eye on them and me and my boo are gonna go see them in November :rockstar:

Ah man that album :firega:. Going to Hell, Sweet Things and House On A Hill won't ever be topped I don't think

Lol I have a really bad experience of seeing Evanescence a few years back.

My bf and I are big metal fans and go to see a lot of gigs and festivals. He wanted to see Evanescence so I got tickets, but literally weeks before, we'd gone to see Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes and that was one of the best gigs we’d been to. Their music isn’t great at all but so much of a rock/metal gig is the crowd and atmosphere imo, and that band really got the crowd moshing, raving and crowd surfing like mad. It was awesome. Everyone was having so much fun no one even noticed when the band finished and left the stage at the end lol.

So we were coming right from that high to Evanescence lol, and stupidly we expected it to be a similar vibe. So before the show we both got wasted and all hyped up expecting another high energy experience.........that wasn’t the case :healedmyheart:. The entire venue just stood like lifeless statues all the way through the performance, and the band did nothing to hype anyone up. The music was good but there was literally zero atmosphere or energy in the entire place, even when the likes of Going Under were playing.... and we were really bored and annoyed a lot of the crowd trying to get some energy going :franminervini:

Annoyingly a similar thing happened last year. I went to see Marilyn Manson for the first time and he’s my all time favourite! I was absolutely losing it in the crowd loving every second but I was literally the only one! Everyone else just stood still and silent all the way through it. Tf is wrong with ppl? It's heavy metal ffs.

Ghost gigs are similar especially now the audience is heavily gen z.

I got lucky at mine being near the barrier and having bonded with a few fellow millenials and was able to have a bit more fun but the crowd was dead for the most part.

ye they were when I went to see Ghost to! it's f*cking annoying.

I don't rly get it cuz you don't go to a club or a rave and just stand still. Why should a high energy gig be any different?
