Suspiria 10,683
I think Gaga's impact on the visual and fashion side of the pop scene is pretty undeniable at this point. She was literally a cultural reset... the impact, wow However I keep seeing stans saying how she changed pop music, and I don't really see how. Major mainstream acts like Britney and Madonna had consistently been doing eurodance/electro pop throughout the 00s. Gaga's 2009 breakthrough also coincided with the Black Eyed Peas' The E.N.D. which undeniably dominated that year, so I think the takeover of EDM in the early 2010s could be just as much attributed to them as Gaga. So how exactly did Gaga change the pop MUSIC landscape?

Leoj305 3,627
You can see a dramatic shift after she blew up. The crazy outfits, the avant- grade fashion, the singing live, became very common after 2010.
Rio 5,088
She had three songs than topped 10M worldwide in the space of a year. She brought that sound to the forefront and to be honest, many artists starting mimicking the sound after, especially pop females. I think she just came at the right time but in that time, she dominated. That peak in 2009-2011 was probably bigger than anything any other artist has ever done. shame 25,360
Her music at her breakthrough was alright. What really won people over was her charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent. She had a really interesting persona and star power that was memorable. She brought personality to her brand of music and brought celebrity culture back into pop. angels forever, forever angels

thehanyo 4,251
She changed artistry and celebrity more than music. Pop girls had been pushing sexuality, saving crazy outfits and costumes just for music videos and photo shots. Lady Gaga brought that to the red carpet, to interviews, award shows, even her daily life. It was something that hadn't really been done since David Bowie, which is why I think he deserves more credit than Madonna does for influencing her career. Blade 5,603
After she broke through artists like Beyonce, Rihanna & Katy Perry suddenly started experimenting with avant-garde fashion and make-up. Music videos got way more cinematic, interesting and "big".
