I think they're all perfect, and part of Gaga's vision. I don't care about charts and neither should you. What is Gaga trying to convey? What does this song bring into the arena? We can talk about changing lead singles for arbitrary purposes but ultimately I love all of the choices for lead single.

Either Perfect Illusion or Stupid Love. Dancin' in Circles should have been the lead for Joanne

Perfect illusion and Stupid Love, for sure.

Applause was quite successful, but personally I think there were stronger more radio-friendly choices.

How are people voting for SL when the rest of the albums could be 15 tracks of Babylon’s :smh:

PI definitely

If she was coming for chart success, she would have released DIC maybe

DIC has the sound that was dying out by then. She released the song just when mumble rap began to become viral so it would’ve charted okay one week and dropped the other. I’m so happy mumble rap is starting to fade from popularity currently & is replaced by the superior 80’s/90’s sound

I'm pretty confident it would've still done better on the charts than PI did

I think it would’ve done similar to PI, around #15-25 as its peak

I can't at people voting Born This Way - Born This Way was the perfect choice for lead single from that album, it's literally her longest running No. 1. Plus it's a great song. I think the misfire of that era was Judas as the second single. If The Edge of Glory had been the second single, it would have hit No. 1 for sure.

Lady Gaga doesn't owe us anything

A-YO should’ve been the lead

catchy, represents the  reinvention, and isn’t as in your face as PI

Whoever picked Just Dance and Bad Romance deserves permaban! How can a single that literally make her a star aka Just Dance be a wrong choice? Also do I even need to explain Bad Romance? :triggered:

Considering Perfect Illusion is Joanne's weakest song I'm going with that. She should've released Diamond Heart or John Wayne as lead (and DIC as a second)

No, the fans loved DIC so it would've definitely open bigger, and the GP was also here for her dance pop songs. While PI was hated by many monsters
