I figured it came out wrong. I can't see a PM not doing a speech since WW2 :toofunny:

Also is ur king still official or is he a pertender to the throne?

In Portugal where I used to live the Royal family is no longer officially or legally recognized

I know the family is still relatively wealthy from passed down assets, in fact I've driven by his house and my dad told me it was the Kings house (a mini mansion)

But most people don't even know who he is or recognize him cuz he's just a pertender to the throne and doesn't get any media coverage either

Well he is kind of a real

king that lives in a castle (different castles actually) and everyone knows him but he can’t decide things

I don't just mean if he's known, I mean is he legally recognized as the King still? Or is he just the King in the sense that he would have been the heir to the throne so he's called King but officially by law his title is not recognized. That's what I mean

Also Does he have any duties?

Like in England the Queen doesn't technically make any laws but she does have to sign them so technically she still has legal power (tho she's never refused to sign anything)

Like the King in Portugal also owns some castles and stuff still simply because it was the Royal families property. But legally his title as King does not exist. It's just a social thing for anyone that still cares (which most people don't) :flop:

Yeah he is legally recognized as the King and the head of state, but he doesn't have any political power and is officially politically neutral.

Some of his duties are opening the parliament after the summer holiday, representing the country when meeting other countries head of states and is the highest representative of the Swedish Armed Forces.

Poor is the man whose pleasures depend on the permission of another

Ok so he's official and still has some duties. That's what I wanted to know

Cuz in Portugal where I'm from the King doesn't even do that nor is he even legally formally recognized anymore (hence pertender to the throne)

I was just curious if the King was still official or not legally

Oh girl, they decided to close all schools here except the ones with kids from the age 6-12 and some high schools. The amount of delusional out like everything is open here and everything is a mess because we literally got 59 new deaths one day not too far into our fight against corona and the health organization took that as irrelevant to care about that much

:wtf: here in quebec canada (8,5M province) as of yesterday we had 6 997 confirmed cases and 75 deaths and we are very strict on lockdowns etc. 59 deaths in a day???? this is NOT good.

I know :(

The death cases reports are 3-4 days late sometimes and sometimes they get some from the whole day, but in total (now reported) there’s around 400 deaths.... and almost 7000 cases...

It’s kinda gross how they can see what’s happening around the world and they’re acting like nothing’s happening.

It's crazy how Quebechas half of Canada's cases

I wonder if higher density in cities like Montreal plays a role

Montreal may not have as many skyscrapers or areas of extreme density like Vancouver or Toronto but the city as a whole has a lot of apartments and houses with 3-4 floors European style

In Ontario the homes that aren't condos and buildings are mostly single homes. In other words the areas that aren't super dense are not dense at all

In Montreal I noticed people also party more than in Toronto so I wonder to what extent that led to a higher innitial spread

Chuckles

Isn't it South Korea that asked only for infected/potential cases to stay in quarantine while everybody else continued with their regular activities?

I saw this video on DW about Sweden and I was very surprised, even by the statements from the Health Ministry.
