Masks now advised in nation's second-largest city Los Angeles

While CDC and WHO are still persistent that healthy people should not wear masks, Los Angeles's mayor Eric Garcetti yesterday told everyone to wear face masks whenever they're out in public. He said that he had been awaiting for advice from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on mask-wearing but with the COVID-19 rate surging had decided to wait no longer.

U.S. Surgeon General Jerome Adams who previously shouted on his twitter that mask is useless and urged people to stop buying masks made a big U-turn yesterday saying that he has asked the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to investigate whether this recommendation should change. This has sparked a lot of controversy as U.S top doctors who should be sure on their knowledge about disease prevention gave an misleading information, and it's even worse when the media and organizations picked up on his words and further spread this messages to all American citizens. We wasted the whole February and now we're the epicenter of the world as number of cases topped 220,000.

Director of Johns Hopkins Center For Health Security Tom Inglesby and Trump himself endorsed this approach. Trump said “You know, you can use a scarf. A lot of people have scarfs, and you can use a scarf. A scarf would be very good.” 

Researchers from MIT also found out that people with coronavirus may be most infectious in the first week of symptoms. Because some have very mild symptoms or symptom-free, it's very important for everyone to wear mask when they enter public spaces.

While WHO insists that the virus is not airborne and the droplets from the infected would fall down quickly, a new research from MIT seems to disagree with WHO's claim as this study has found that droplets and aerosols contain the coronavirus can travel up to 27 feet and linger for hours.

Many people said that if masks became mandatory, we would run out of resources and health workers would suffer from the shortage. Solution has been found as it's suggested that you don't need the medical class masks, save them for health personnels, a homemade mask or scarf would be effective as well because the important point is to trap the droplets when you cough, sneeze and talk inside the mask so the virus could not linger in air. Stop the infected sources.

Yeah my family too, We use two layer of cloth outside and one layer of tea filter inside. Too bad this is what we should have done in the first day. Last week when I posted about how mask should be efficient to stop the disease, many came and attacked my idea because everybody at that time in America believed mask is ineffective.

I live in Hong Kong and we experienced SARS, something as deadly as this new virus. It was the hardest time we had. SARS was under control because we all started paying attention to public hygiene. For example, we wore masks during that whole period, I still remember SARS, it was when I was just 4/5 years old. All the teachers taught us steps to wash our hands, we were brainwashed with the idea of using 1:99 bleach to disinfect everything etc. 
 

When we heard about the virus back when it was only a local thing in Wuhan, my family started stocking up masks. We had the experience so we knew which masks are going to be medical grade and which ones are just frauds that are essentially useless pieces of cloths that don’t block the virus.

Despite how our government is super pro-China, we managed to limit kind of contain the virus from a community outbreak and we are actually rather close to Wuhan. I said they are pro-China because they didn’t close the borders despite knowing the situation in China. They deliberately wanted the infected people to come into our city and use our more advanced healthcare system just to please the Chinese government. Still, we the people after the whole Hong Kong political movement, know how our government and the CCP are not trustworthy. We do the opposite of what they suggested, for example, using masks and self-quarantine before the virus even reached Europe or the Americas. That explains why HK and Taiwan, despite the close proximity to Wuhan, have super low infection numbers. Because we never trust the CCP. 
 

That being said, WHO is probably corrupted to tell the world that they shouldn’t wear masks. Our local media set up an interview with the WHO. When asked about their comments on Taiwan’s measures, they pretended they didn’t hear the question at first, then, they hung up on the reporter after being asked again the question. This is because they could not tell the world that wearing masks and the Taiwan/ Hong Kong way was right because we did exactly what the CCP didn’t want us to do and WHO should never acknowledge Taiwan as a country to please China. Tell me this organization isn’t corrupted!

I am ranting here because I don’t want a single LM being infected. I urge you to not trust the WHO and look at the measures taken in Taiwan and Hong Kong and some Asian countries. Always remember these measures! The way China still allows people to consume random animals like Bats, cats, dogs and the filthiest thing means there will forever be another SARS, Covid 19 and something else. 

These are probably controversial and are stuff that you can’t read about in a foreign country. I just want all of you to learn that NEVER think that your measures are too much, do your best to protect yourselves when your government can’t protect you. And NEVER trust China and organizations that are corrupted.

I wish that all the media/people who led the public to believe that masks are useless could find peace for themselves as they're a part of what helped the disease to spread. Latest prestigious finding sent to the White House: It could spread by talking or even breathing.
