As an outsider (non-US citizen) this looks just like the Hilary/Trump election all over again. Instead of rallying behind party and voting for the candidate at top, so many left-leaning Americans are obsessed with cancelling the problematic people and exposing all of their flaws. Bernie has a great coalition behind him, and has been doing extremely well in a more diversified field. However, getting Buttigieg and Klobuchar to drop out and coalition behind him, along with all the other Dems that suspended their campaigns, was definitely the strategy they employed to get him to be the face of the neolib/moderate BS they're peddling. Also, considering that they've employed many tactics to suppress voters in non-white areas of the country, Tom Perez allowing for primaries to continue even with COVID abound, and Pelosi even working to silence and dissuade progressives from joining the house or even having a voice (e.g. her endorsing Henry Cullar over Jessica Cisneros in TX)--it's safe to say that they're doing anything and everything to maintain the status quo. Hot take but I think the DNC would be happy with four more years of Trump because that way they can scapegoat while accusing us, the voters, for not rallying behind their crappy candidates.
