She wants to feel connected to us, rather than above us with her perfection. (because after all it's really just a perfect illusion right? No real human is that perfect) I love this post. I kind of never thought about it from this point of view. But I do like it when she's this larger than life superstar that seems better than us. I live for the whimsy of it all. They aren't models whose career is based on their perfect face, nor are they using Instagram MUA close-up angle tricks. Look. Billy B's Telephone wings were asymmetrical Tara Savelo's BTWB wings and brows were asymmetrical It's dumb AF hearing a bunch of boys who don't wear makeup every day complain about the nature of human face shapes. Could they take more flattering pictures? She's spoken about this kinda thing quite a bit in the past so I always use that as context when something isn't 'polished'. During ARTPOP she said a lot that she wanted fans to be able to imitate what she does, fashion, choreography etc. it's also why some of her choreography is simple. LOVEDRUG 10,680 Posted March 31, 2020 Share Posted March 31, 2020 there's a difference between punk and messy she could do it really punk, but a lot of the time it's just bad eyeliner, uneven edges, poor skills. if you wanted it punk you could smudge it or smear it, instead of just making it wonky and weird. no matter how it's SUPPOSED to look, it looks quite bad a lot of the time. sarah isn't a bad makeup artist, but i think she misinterprets this instruction to make it punk. sarah's really talented, but she just makes it look bad instead of punk a lot of the time. not blindly hating! just giving my opinion Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
