Dua Lipa saved pop music

So I will be completely honest and say that I can be a massive music snob. The thing is, I am really nostalgic and I love the music I listened to as a teen. New music just doesnt remind me of the fun teen years I had. So yah, that is probably one reason I look down upon mainstream music today. I do like Charli XCX, Grimes, Carly Rae Jepson, Ariana Grande and obviously Gaga but I really don't listen to a lot of the music that comes out these days. Anyways, I decided to listen to Dua Lipa's new album - Future Nostalgia - and I am SHOOK. Words can not describe how I feel listening to it. SHE SAVED POP MUSIC.

Like I am excited for Chromatica but this album is seriously going to be hard to beat. It just sounds so fresh and beautiful. I do not want to pit Gaga against Dua obviously but let me just say - Listening to this album is giving me goosebumps like the first time I listened to The Fame Monster. So that is a massive compliment for Gaga so don't come for me :triggered:

Back to Future Nostalgia - Every song has top production, mysterious lyrics, and a ton of growth and maturity, I am really amazed at Dua Lipa and I am honestly going to say this - She will win the AOTY in the 2021 Grammys. :golfclap:

I do have to agree that FN together with After Hours will be contenders for AOTY but DSN should be ROY :grr:

But I'm still waiting for Chromatica and Adele's album or maybe Rihanna's as well. But so far Dua and Abel really delivered:giveup:

TM/TFM is already legendary and considered as one of the best albums out there. I don't think it was a compliment to be compared to FN :ohwell:

get ready for the people who swear up and down that it’s “basic.” :trollga:

FN is incredibly fresh and (hopefully) is just a hint of what’s to come for dua’s MPG career, not a single song on the album is a skip and i can see it staying my favorite album of 2020.

watching everything from DSN to the album drop has been so interesting to see from someone who had already been dismissed by so many people as bland or “meme material.”

i said it earlier and i’ll say it again, all hail the next main pop girl in her glory :firega:

I'm ready to fight anyone who disagrees with that. FN is definitely fresh and beautiful. This is Duas second coming. This album will definitely take her career to the next level. Every song is intentional and well produced. Literally no skips. We hv no choice but to Stan 💁‍♂️

LOVER? :excuseu: 1989? :ladyhaha:

I think it’s that the album is evocative of a certain pop sound. Listening to ‘Hallucinate’, ‘Love Again’ and ‘Hallucinate’ really are reminiscent of the sounds of kylie, madge, and a bit of robyn + not to mention, most pop girl albums are just 5 singles + 5 fillers whereas this album feels cohesive :vegas:

It’s just me being a picky detail-oriented snob, but I noticed that the structures of the songs aren’t typical, they all have different sounds, and it just shows a lot of growth since her debut

It’s saying something because I was adamant on never stanning Dua because her sound was just typical ordinary pop, but it’s only her sophomore and she’s shown so much growth. I HAD to stan

It's crazy how I thought Physical was so good, but after listening to Levitating and Hallucinate, Physical seems weak. Good In Bed and Boys Will Be Boys should have been scrapped in my opinion.

The way you still want to put Gaga against Dua

Like, can we enjoy both albums without creating this unnecessary comments?. All i can see is "Dua served what Gaga lacked", "Dua songs are fresh, unlike Gaga with SL", "Dua saved pop music, Gaga doesn't"...

BOTH are saving pop music this year. Both artists are giving something new to the scenario.
